similarities between abrahmic religions

I thought instead of bringing the differences we can look at the similarities. and try to understand their prospective better. i start from somethig totally trivial and something fundamental.
fundamental is that there is one god. even trinity is three in one. this alone should make a world of difference. if there is only one god then all three pray to the same god. the one that created all man. do you all [question for jews Muslims and Christians and other single god religions]agree or you think there is more than one god and each group is created by different god.
the other is trivial. i am talking about the hat. look at pope and muslems sull cap and kipa. all the same version of the same thing.
i try to find more. it would be much easier to find Judaism and islam as they are pretty much identical.

here is another one that i learned in this forum.
all three believe in messiah [i did not know muslems do] and his function and importance in the judgment day.

Hi Pizzaman, I like your approach more than the other threads, it's clear for me you look for more info and knowledge, so I won't feel offended if you asked whether a man and a woman in Islam use that sheet with a hole, they do not use this in Islam in case you were wondering :D

so, a similarity between Muslims and Christians (possibly Jews but it waits somebody to answer pizzaman's question there): a sheet with a hole is not required to have sex.

Muslims and christians believe Jesus PBUH is the true masseah.

Muslims and jews don't consider Jesus to be God or son of God.

Muslims believe that there will be a liar masseah (powerful, but one eyed man, followed by the jews) whom Jesus will kill, I am not sure if the christians believe in the liar masseah as well, may be it is what they mean by anti-christ.

Islam and christianity accept all people.

Christianity and Judaism are full of contradictions.

Thank you pizzaman for this topic.

I'll tell you what Muslim texts say about the beginning of Abrahamic faiths.

There are 3 Abrahamic/Semetic religions -viz, Judiasm, Christianity and Islam. It all started with Abraham.

He had two Sons, Issac and Ishmael. Ishmael was first born and his mother was Hajira (Hagar). Issac was born to Sarah.

The Arab race started with Ishmael ad the Jewish race started with Issac.

Abraham took Hajira to Mecca and abandoned her. Her child was very thirsty. Hajira ran from mountain to mountain to look for water for the thirsty child. The mountains were Safa and Marwa. That is the legend that explains the creation of the well of Zum Zum in Mecca. It is said God Sent Angel Gabriel to Mecca. He stuck his feather into the ground and out flowed the fresh water of Zum Zum in the desert. (Incidently, angel Gabriel is supposed to have wings)

Then later Abraham repented and went back to Mecca to fetch his wife Hajira. There God commanded him to build a "House of God" -- That is the Kaaba that Muslims pray towards in Mecca.

Some "historians" say Abraham was an Egyptian Pharaoh. What a baloney!
Others say Abraham is actually A-Braham or Father Braham -- That is what the Hindus pray to (Lord Brahma).

    Thanks browntwn,

Islam, Christianity and Judaism are all based on their own Holy Books.

Look at the description of Jesus peace be upon him in the Holy Quran and you will know the truth.

Now that is DAMN funny. Personally, I think the Mormons and the Muslims have it right. If you let the story end, you loose interest. Hollywood knows the sequels are pretty much guaranteed money. Whether it be the book of Mormon or the latest Shia fatwa, the story most go on.

I probably haven't mentioned this yet, but I'm thinking about starting my own religion. Being an agnostic, I don't think I'll have any "Holy" writings, instead creating a book of "Guiding philosophical principals". Maybe I can start with some of the writings of Anthony Robbins. I won't even label it a religion to my constituents. I'll make meditation and self-improvement the key areas of interest, with a focus on the benefits of sex (especially with the Pastor, err leader). My money says I can lure many a zealot atheist into my little social group and pick up some good coin along the way. I've always pictured myself driving down the California freeways in a white Mercedes 600sl, my fuchsia colored priests robe and cape flying in the wind, wearing a large matching mitre (Popes hat), with a license plate that said, "Healer".
