Do you purchase before you advertise?

As someone who previously worked in retail for almost a decade, it was always my policy to use the product before I sold it to a customer, always made selling it easier, and you didnt have to BS your way through a fake sales pitch that later might come to bite you in the ass when what you made up wasnt 100% true.

Do the majority of you buy the product before you sell it?

And if you do... do you buy it through your own hoplink? I wasnt able to find any information on whether that was allowed or not... seems kind of hinky to me, but as sellers, if we are going to be selling your product, and only buying it to assist in sales only makes sense we should get a discount.

    Thoughts?

You dont need to purchase, just open a sale test channel and type any information to see if your sale paye works. Then start advertising.

I understand you dont need to purchase the item to know your sale will work, I was asking how many folks buy the product so they know what they are selling.

From my personal experience, few of them do this.

I do the majority of the time, or if they are DP members and I am seriously considering promoting their product I will ask for a review copy . If they don't give a review copy I will most likely just give it a miss instead of being like the majority and just B.S that I know what the product is all about.

I will also use my own hoplink to purchase the product I am about to promote.

Clickbank has a refund policy so people here just buy, read and request a refund. I have never purchased any product just to promote it later.
Usually know enough to promote and also never have to face the customer.

But i think it is better if we really know about what we are promoting. I guess this increases word of mouth advertising and conversions.

As said above, not having to face the customer makes it much easier to sell something you've only heard a faint description of.

If you have money then purchase it. The main question is will you not advertise it after you have purchased and not liked it?

If the publisher is reachable, you can always ask for review copy. I don't think you need to buy the product to advertise but if the product is unique of its kind and you don't find enough information to write about it, You can buy the product.

It really depends on the product, most of the time I will ask the publisher for a review copy if I can find some form of contact other than their support emails, etc. If the commission is 75% a lot of times I will buy through my own link (explicitly stated that it is allowed in CB's T&C), and if the commission is too low I won't be promoting it anyway.

    Edit:
Unless it is forex stuff, since it is all BS anyway I just say that I love it :D

I don't purchase most of the times. It all depends on how well the product converts actually. I take a month to know how the product converts and then buy the product to further give away information.
