If you only concentrate on one I would recommend article submission. You will probably not get to the first page in SERPs from using only one of the three I recommend doing all of them.

 

Yah ive used them all, im thinking of doing a some of SB's now cuz i heard article submission doesnt work very much anymore...
and directories are just lame i think, im already in them all and they dont really do much... wish i was in DMOZ tho...

 

Well, it depends on the quality of sites you're going to submit it! Don't focus to only one strategy 'coz it won't do any good to your site. Try to collaborate it to other techniques to have receive great result.

 

Article submission is a good one, just do it right. Soon those submissions will gain Pagerank. Also include your list the blogging, link exchange and press release submission.

I think from these 3 Social Bookmarking is best. but please don't just do one thing try to do all things.

Like: - If you need instant traffic then use Bookmar
If you need prominent link then use Article submissions
if you need huge links then do directory submissions.

I prefer Social Bookmarking & Article Submission. By this two submission we can get quick back links in the major search engines. But Directory submission will take some time for getting backlinks.

Mate, If you are looking for some quick visitors then prefer Social Bookmarking, but if you are looking for SEO then consider the Article Submission. Directory Submission will neither provide you the Traffic nor the SEO value in short run, but for long run it will definitely return the SEO value. Frankly I have not seen any good web directory from last few years.

These days directory sites are developed on an idea of earning some money from Adsense and so they use to approve almost every URL which they get. Thus if you look at any of the category then you will see that there are around 1000 of websites in that category. Few will be related to casino also and few will be related to XXX also. How will you say it as a good directory then?

 

All the 3 are important but article submission is much more important than the other. Article submission is a great way to boost targeted traffic and it will also help to amplify the rankings of your website.
