    My site is shaheenwebdesign.com

    Its now been over a week since my website was created, and since I submitted it to google via their URL submittion and my webmaster tools Sitemap. They've verified my sitemap, and successfully accessed my homepage, however for Index Status I still get "No pages from your site are currently included in Google's index. Indexing can take time." and no data available for the Diagnostics and Stats part of my Google WM tools.

    I've submitted to a wide variety of social sites like Digg, as well as free web designer search sites. I'm on msn.com, why not Google or Yahoo? What am I doing wrong?

    It can take anywhere from days to more than a month after submitting a sitemap.xml before Google gets around to crawling your site. Even when they crawl it, having submitted a sitemap.xml is no guarantee it will be indexed. They will however eventually come.

    You may want to start building links to your site if you're getting impatient. It can speed up the process. Google can discover your site by following links on other sites back to yours.

    you can do social bookmarking submissions as google loves to crawl those. So that your website can be index within 24 hrs.

    I've submitted to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, over 3 days ago - still no index for shaheenwebdesign.com.

    Submitting a website through a URL submit directly on the search engine is the worst way to get your page indexed.

    Lets say it takes a month;
    so forget about this to help you get ranked.
    If I were you, I would go to onlywire.com, I would subscribe to all the suggested social bookmarks, and I would use onlywire for every post on your site. This means between 25/35 backlinks for each of your pages;

    ideally, you should create an article section and insert your own articles in your site while submitting to onlywire.
    Give a little bit of time for subscribing, then write a few articles, and finally post all of this.

    Less than a week and not only will you appear, but you will rank well ;)
