What is Link Cloaking?

What is Link Cloaking? Is link cloaking the same thing as using a shortened url (eg. tinyurl.com)?

Should our affiliate using link cloaking? Please help. Thanks

 

Close, that is link masking. Link cloaking is basically when you show search engine's bots one thing, and humans another. Targeting UAs or more effectively IP's. But it's unsure if it really makes a difference depending on which SE. Link masking is a definitely great idea.

^So that is what it is could you show what the html would look like? Should I use it on links that I do not want to give link juice such as the affiliate sites I market for (I mean if they reach the top of SERPs then what good am I?) Anyway if you could elaborate on the code I would be greatful
