    Hey everyone ,
I need your help....I'm looking for a notebook for myself....this will be my first...right now i'm using a lenovo desktop....i've never used mac before...i just used it once and it was pretty fast and amazing....i'm a big apple fan....i love all their products....i've used both iPhone 2G and 3G and they're my all time favourites.....currently using 3G...So, I want to know if apple macbook is worth the money ?? Should I go for it...I love the design...
I need the notebook for working on it....besides working , I'd be watching movies and listening to music and using it while travelling......So should I go for it or chose an alternative like dell or ibm....I really don't wanna go for anything else...i just love apple.....what do you think?

A couple of months ago, Consumer Reports rated desktop and laptop computers. In the laptop category. the Windows PCs top ratings were around 46 out of 100 (or less) in "Usability" and "Reliability". Apple Macs had ratings around 65.

I believe macs are well worth the money, I have a fully loaded 15" MacBook Pro, and I absolutely love it. Runs everything I need to, all at the same time, without crashing. Sure, PCs can run Photoshop, Flash, whatever... but I've used PCs with higher specs than my MBP and they crash when you run about three heavy programs at once, never happens with my MBP.

My sister owns the older white MacBook, and it is her pride and joy. (Little slow in my opinion, but she obviously needs more RAM, the older MacBooks only came with 512 MB) She absolutely loves it.

Once you go Mac, you never go back.

If you have the cash buy an apple, I still prefer PCs because they're cheaper.

I switched from Windows to Mac two years ago and haven't looked back. At first I thought they were really expensive, but then realized they're incredibly cheap for two reasons:

    1. They last way longer than your typical PC. I've had my iMac for more than 2 years and it's just like new. I don't see myself buying a new computer for a long time.

    2. High resell value. I sold my Macbook for $650 and it was almost 2 years ago. You can't do that with a PC. I then bough a new MacBook. So basically I got $650 off, plus $100 student discount, plus a free iPod Touch. I sold the iPod Touch since I already have one for $250. So in total I got my $1,200 MacBook for only $200.

If you not into gaming, then you can go ahead with Mac. Mac OS is not troublesome like Windows.

My next system will be Mac. I'm already tired with Windows.

    depends on your needs...
for graphic designers and engineers it worth every penny.
for a regular user, its too expensive.

Mac, contrary to "popular" belief, is not that great of an operating system, and can't even run many games. Speaking of games, get World of Warcraft... I can run it on my school's computers, and they run Windows 98 (as an example of how cheap and old they are). RuneScape is filled with too many 5 year olds that aren't supervised, and can't spell.

They are totally worth it. My friend got one recently - not only are they beautifully designed and put together, they come fully loaded with features and they have the best screens in the business. Very reliable too. In the long run they work out much better value for money.

I'm get a mac next year - as a very experienced Windows user and having built way over 50 PCs, I can't be bothered with Windows. I will install windows as a dual boot though just in case.

Right now if you're in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom, you can get a student discount for $100 off + a free iPod Touch. So buy from Apple.com (.ca, or .co.uk). If you wish, you can sell the iPod Touch for $200. Therefore you're basically getting $300 off.

I recommend getting the lowest amount of ram they offer. Then, if you want to upgrade, buy from MacMall or NewEgg because their ram is far cheaper. If you need help just ask.
