Title says it all. I have about $10,000 to invest, i do have few things in mind but i would love to get your input and seek your ideas. So how would you invest 10,000 into any web related project and which kind of project. I have few questions in mind which i shall ask as i start getting your views.
I will start a file hosting site to compete with rapidshare. And setup a social networking site for my local community.
New competitive gaming league if it were mine to spend. Or some type of video sharing site somewhat like youtube with an awesome layout, logo, domain name.
Okay, I responded to what would you do with 1K and 30k posts. The response is the same; I would invest in the mobile market. It is hotter than ever in part to the success of the iPhone and now Android is making a move. It is VERY competitive, but it has the potential for a rewarding venture. Do NOT go into it thinking of it as a "GET RICH QUICK SCHEME" or you will surely lose sight of the objective and fail. Good luck.
find something that is currenlty big right now and build a better website and offer free services. For instance plentyoffish.com unlike other dating websites users are free to register and the guy makes $10million a year through advertising.
Use the money to setup a membership site of some description, ideally teaching people how to make money. You don't want to spend the money just once and have it gone. You want to use it to kick start some recurring revenue. With 10K you should easily be able to budget for content for such a site, for experts to contribute, and for an effective launch. If you can get 500 members of a $50 membership site, then you'll make every month 250% of your original investment.
With that money, I believe its best if you invest in to someone elses company. Try investing in a Game server host.
I would invest it in an incentive freebie website. You will have much more than $10,000 in just a few Net30 payments time. If you're interested, speak to me on gChat.
i would do a site and pay to get the best SERPS which is the most important thing about a website. if u are interested in cheap seo , let me know
if you have that kind of money... the best thing to do is a Dating site... you can get a script for $600 fully automated and working.. then $150 per month for a dedicated server the rest on advertising.. I recomend Facebook, is cheaper and effective.. you can get your 10k back in 2/3 month time
Good domain name - $500 Good scripts for some kind of site - $500 Excellent design - $2000 Good web hosting plan - $140/month (dedicated) Remaining money all goes into promotions, hire a bunch of copywriters to create press releases, articles, blog posts for guest blogging, contests, buy some solid one way links, etc.
where'd u get that kind of money? i'm jealous haha i would start a few low key ebook websites and get a lot of traffic to them
Well, you can just go for selling your own product, invest on minisite design, some promotion and you can get back more than 100 times of amount of what you have spent.
With 10k you could try a few different ideas to see what works, dedicating portions of your money to each project. I'd suggest site flipping, buy or create a site then invest in content, marketing etc. and sell, although personally I would keep at least a third of the sites I make to keep producing money and just maintain them a bit, if possible (very very specific niches you'll eventually hit a wall and there's just no more content you could make). Another idea is drop shipping, although very competitive and getting harder and harder for new players to make a decent profit, with a budget your size you shouldn't have much trouble marketing it and get a nice customer base going. Of course at the end of the day, it's all down to your decisions and what you want to do with it. Success of the iPhone? It didn't exactly evolve the phone industry lol also I know no one that has an iPhone, maybe that's just me. But of course you're probably refering to the profits. iPod on the other hand, they have a winning product there, it's almost managed to do the same as the Hoover, only reason I say almost is because you wouldn't refer to any mp3 player as an iPod, but you likely would any vacuum cleaner as a Hoover. This can be good if you're lucky but you need to know exactly what you're doing and be on top of your servers, not to mention you'll need to do a lot of research on data centres. My mate used to do game hosting, registered for VAT an ol, then recently had to cease doing so because the profit margin just wasn't there anymore(the turn over of thousands wasn't worth just a few hundred € a month), even had to turn away and let go of some customers because their usage was just too great and he was only a small host (this dude is like 16/17, still goes to school). There is no doubt in my mind he will be successful, he was always developing scripts and add-ons to those scripts, had a control panel to automate the vast majority of the work involved, then this eventually lead onto another script he's been creating for a few months and was already looking promising back then, it's only getting better. See here for more (at least until he decides to do something else w/ this domain) Zero-Core
