    Hello

    I had setup a new forum yesterday.
    Domain registrar: internet.bs
    Host: thepeakhost.net

    When I try to open my site, I get a GateWay Timeout error. But, my site opens with a proxy.

    What is the problem?

    Please help me.

    Thanks

    It looks like your ISP is blocking access to that site (and possibly other sites). Run a traceroute, or better yet, a tcptraceroute to your site. That should tell you where the problem lies.

    Instead of asking us what the problem is, use simple logic to gain the solution;

    1. Your gateway - proxy/ISP.
    2. Gateway is not responding/working.
    3. if you are using a proxy, ensure it is running correctly.
    4. Ensure other sites are working fine.
    5. Get a friend to check if the site is working or not.
    6. If its not working for you, but working for your friends, then try using a web proxy to see your site.
    7. You may be blocked by your host due to a false positive.

    See, using your head can gain a resolution :)

    Hey, I am a friend of Rock_Me and he has asked me to answer you.
    He cannot access his site, but I can. He is getting a gateway timeout. He can access all other sites. He can use his site using a proxy. He had already asked his host manager and domain manager to see if his IP is in the blocked list. But, it is not.
    He has also changed his hosting twice, but no solution has come.

    Now, any help??

    In all honesty, yourself and your friend need to learn english manners and overall logic. It will gain you a better response and solution at the end of any troubleshooting.

    using basic logic;

    Your friend can do a trace route to his domain to see what is going on...

    Running tracert from your command terminal on the domain in question will allow you to trace and find which routing node is causing the issue.

    Really, Either the site/domain is blocked on your friends side ( ISP or local client ) or there is a routing issue, or the hosting provider has not investigated enough to find that your IP was infact blocked...

    using simple troubleshooting techniques and researching exactly what could be causing such an issue by querying basic internet connection definitions will show that you can investigate these simple connection issues yourself using basic every day logic.
