    could not agree more, has little to do with .edu, and all to do with PR5 split between only 2 links.

    thats what they mean by sourcing high-quality links.

    I think you are right on the money. And this is why .gov and .edu links are so valuable, they don't have a lot of outgoing links. And without these little student directories it would be very hard to get a .edu link.

    Regardless of whether its a .edu or a .com, the Boston College website must have thousands of links from other education and government sites that are very trusted by Google.

    My point is that there is no way of telling whether the TLD makes a difference because 99.99% of .edu's and .gov's are very heavily linked to from trusted sites.

    its bit strange that we are talking about one link..and at the end it does not really make any difference - i think google will look more carefully - if there are related content on those EdU links
