I signed up for getafreelance.com at 10:23pm, posted a project at 10:34pm, and finalized a deal at 12:43am. If you ever need a freelance project done I strongly reccommend them over any other service! My only complaint about the site is that the design/UI really sucks.
Let us know if the quality of the work is good. I guess that depends more so on the contractor, but it'd be good to know anyway.
the problem there is the projects posted dont have total information ,we have to guess and bid sometimes :0
yeah post up if the work is any good - anywhere that attracts decent people is a bonus - unlike that meat market scriptlance
I would rather suggest you rentacoder.com . I am active on many freelancer websites but the best quality is to be found on RAC. If you want also a suggestions of the best programmers take a look at the top programmers from there.
Just an update: getafreelancer.com SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy didn't get the work done, they banned my account, and now I'm out $15. Plus, I'm about ready to gauge my eyes out after looking at their crappy site for so long. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
oh man math20 that sux, you should stick to people on trusty forums such as digitalpoint lol. thanks for the feedback man.
thats very fast generally it takes more time as there are many bidders in there, so the poster of the project checks with all of them , after that takes a decision
Yeah, I probably should've waited for more people. The main thing that grinds my gears is that they banned me!
Had to do it Seriously though, that sucks about getting banned. I've always been a bit iffy on sites like that so I tend to stick to local programmers. It's a lot easier to organise meetings!
hmmm.. There must be more to the story. I don't see them banning you for no reason at all. (perhaps they didn't like the mispelling of their domain above ) How was their support when you asked them why you were banned? -Fractal
Lol, Im sure there is more to this story...You aren't even allowed to post jobs for less then $30 so Im thinking maybe you made a side deal to get the price down. I've posted over 200 jobs over there and if you make sure to use the IM feature BEFORE you choose someone, it can save a lot of trouble. Like any freelancer site out there, there are some real morons but they are really easy to spot. You also put the money in Escrow which means you can never be ripped off. If you paid the guy outside the system, that was a really big mistake (One that you are warned about when you sign up)
No, I paid for posting everything so my account balance was $0.00 but after the guy didn't finish the job within the alloted time I didn't leavefeedback fo him, I think that may be it. Otherwise I think I followed the rules and everything; maybe I contacted him via email instead of the crappy pm system though .
Bidding sites such as getafreelancer and elance are useless for true professionals. I take the occasional look at the SEO and copywriting pages and see nothing but buyers wanting enormous jobs of the highest standard done for $30-100. Take content writing, f'rinstance.. It's as if it doesn't occur to the buyer that nobody outside the third world can survive on $30 for 100 articles - and yet they demand high quality work. It boggles the mind.
