well i wanted to know does it cost more then normal to get ads on top of search results , the blue colored advertisments
well, costs the same - but if you bid more you increase the chances to be there. You need to have the position #1 or #2 - also you need to have a very nice CTR for an certain period. after that your ads are specially manually reviewed before being there.
can be just a 0.xx, depend specifically of the keywords that you are using. for example: I remember that I had estimate that I would need to pay $8.00 and had a outstanding ad to get the blue position for the keyword Web Hosting But at that time I got the blue position biding only $0.25 with keywords like Web Hosting ssl this is a very specific case as web hosting market is one of the most competitive areas in PPC. so is possible to get the blue spot paying cents, but depends of the competitive of that specific keyword. Alsop the more important is the CTR% and the relevance of the landing page - the bid has influence but if you do not has a good ad you will never be there.
the cost always depends on the other advertisers, if you offer too little you ad will never appears... so it could cost more or less depending the other advertisers for that keywords
It's not just about bidding - you also have to get a good Quality Score, which consists of many factors - have a look on here for posts on QS and also on the Google help files
First your ad/landing page must be optimised and relevant for the keyword. You also need to have consistent good performance, looking on average on the market for this specyfic keyword. High QS, good CTR and high enough bid (if your stats are poor then even if you are paying 5 x more then competition, you wont get the top spots) - thats all you need
Yes... If you are in the top 2 positions you will be in the highlighted area.. but I haven't seen any blue area as such
lol, morgi is correct - it's a summation of what you have to do to perform well on adwords - google tell you that and anyone who uses adwords a bit will tell you that
If you can find some high volume search and less competitor keywords you can easy on top 1~3 and earn a lot money .
If your bid is high enough to get top 3 ranking for your targeted keywords, chances are high that you will get top position at top right side of sponsored results. Sometimes google shows first 2 ads at the top of the page..right before the organic results so in that case 3rd ad would be at top of right page... so it depends...
It comes back to how much you want to pay per click, obviously the top 3 positions costs the most, hence they get the most clicks.
It's not just down to bid, it's down to Ad Rank, and in a very basic way Ad Rank = QS x max cpc. In this case you have to achieve a certain Ad Rank to get the 'premium positions' with the equation slanted slightly in favour of QS - i.e. you have to have a good enough Quality Score, otherwise no amount of high bids will get the 'premium' positions above the natural listings
I agree you get more clicks with the top 3 positions, but historically and most professionals agree that the tire kickers are hitting on the top 3 while the buyers are hitting on the 3rd or 4th position on the right... and statisics bear up on that ... if you are on the top 3 your bid is too high... drop it down until you land on the right side at pos 3 or 4 there and watch your conversion come up.. as we know click thru rate is not where the money is.. its in the conversion rate... however a good click thru rate lowers your over costs... only a conversion makes you money.
It depends on every advertisers budget for that keyword. If you limit a high budget, you can be first or second.
That's what I learnt too to go to position 3 and 4... then I realize the money is in Position 1 and 2 when you find your "golden" keyword that converts.
