How to Identify a blog is dofollow or nofollow?

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by waqyum, May 21, 2009.

I have searched some good high PR blogs for my Travel website, but I don't know which of them is dofollow and which is nofollow.
Is there any method to identify this other than Firefox Nodofollow Addon?

I am looking for some site where i can enter the blog address and it will tell me the nature of the blog.

You can use several FireFox plug-ins to quickly do this or use the above method and do it manually. I use one named "Knofollo" for firefox :)

For a simple check, try to view source their web page. Please make sure there is no word called "nofollow".

Basically, there is no true “dofollow”, it is just NOT using the “nofollow” tag.

Becuse there are some dofollow and some nofollow links on one site...I right click on the link and select properties..it shows "relation: nofollow", if it's dofollow then there is nothing in "relation:" :)

block or select the link...and then right click "see selected source"

if there is "rel=nofollow" on the links, so that's not dofollow,,and you will not get a backlink from it.

I use the SEOBook toolbar which has a button for showing nofollow links. You click it, it doesn't turn red, means its DoFollow.

You can use a plugin for firefox called Seo for Firefox, it has an option to highlight the nofollow links in any website.

    the nature of the blog?
a blog most likely doesn't have all links as nofollow, so I don't know what you're looking for exactly.
if you're looking for blogs which don't have nofollow in the links you submit as comments, then say it so.
you simply have to look for some specific sentences such as "dofollow comments" or things like that

Yep there are plenty of Firefox add ons, I have at least 3 with "highlight nofollow links" functions on them. Not sure why you don't want to use add ons.

Thanks for this though, could come in useful when not at home!

Get the "no nofollow" firefox plugin, it shows which links are dofollow/nofollow by highlighting them with different colors.

If its a really good blog in your niche you should closely look at the source code. It might be worth the extra effort in the long term.
