A niche you are interested in and want to write about even if you dont make any money with adsense from it the first weeks.

also it should be not the least paying niche, i mean if i like jokes, i dont create any joke site, because they pay less, so its a compromise i guess

yeah, whatever you like. otherwise you won't enjoy it.

I tried making money off boring, but better paying niches. Instead, for the past few months I decided to stick to video games, and I'm avg'ing near $10/day now, even if clicks are under 15 cents/click (other niche was like 30 to 50 cents).

The best niche for anyone is something they can enjoy and devote time to.

Do a blog on mesotholemia. There isn't enough of that around. We could use one more, just in case. Or asbestos. We're short on asbestos blogs, too.

Leave it to Jack to come up with good replies like this one!

Or my favorite, go for porn....there is a big market for porn niches.
    Say "grandmothers who are lesbians"

Google will immediately 'request' you to join their premium publisher program. You will be allowed to caption your ads with "click here or we will sue you" too. ;)

I thought the question was already answered? :D

Write about something you like... or whatever your writer likes ;)

Note regarding the video games: Whilst it's awesome you're doing particularly well, the entire videogame niche tends to move fairly quickly so you won't be able to stick up sites and forget about them and continue profiting off the traffic longterm. Mind you, that's just what I've found, so if you've got a winning formula keep going ;)

Since we're at it, are there really niche topics for blogs that that you can put content enough to be able to leave the blog, forget about it for some time and still be able to profit from it..

    That's the key..
Give us your blog url in a few months so we can read about how much you like one-legged-midget grandmothers with mesothomelia that are lesbians...

If you are good at programming, you can come up with tools that people like to use over and over again.

Make a list of your interests then post a poll asking which one would be the most profitable for a site. That way you are developing a site you are interested in.

I agree with what the other posters have said. Knowing and liking the subject are important but if you want to blog about something that gets low trafic / low payment per click at some point you have to decide to cut your lossses (time) and go with something else that works better.

That's exactly the position I'm in now. I have a few sites that I enjoy doing but they simply aren't bringing home the money I want.

Anything informational or instructional - tutorials, reviews, opinions or just general articles on a subject.

The less tech related the more ongoing income you will make as residual searches continue.

If you're really trying to streamline things, you'll want to target Yahoo and MSN since they'll rank much faster and are easier to rank for.

You'll also want some sort of customized CMS system where you can make sites literally as fast as you can write the articles.
