Marketing an affiliate site with general products / services?

Hi, I wanted to know if it would be a good or ok idea to market an affiliate site with various items, like sports, electronics, entrepreneur items etc?

Or should I just go with one specific category?

Also, how would one set up an affiliate site? I dont really plan to have any "content", but rather just set it up kinda like a store with various offers.

You will be best setting it up as an information site for 6 months and then add some affiliate links etc. Its hard to get links to an affiliate site and the search engines like to see lots of content.

Go with the smaller markets, try to focus only in one category at the beginning (your niche, could be something like electronic chess sets or sweaters for dogs) because otherwise you will be competing with the big boys (which can afford to offer lower prices than you can).

No, but you can if you buy from wholesale suppliers.
