Whats the best way to monetize my blog?

I have a been working on my blog for a couple of months and the most visitors I have had in a day was 40 until yesterday where I had a staggering 3 thousand + and counting. (high bounce rate though)

I am currently trying to sell Amazon products with NO sales at all and don't really want to use Adsense yet. Although I wish I had before the recent burst of visits.

Anyone got any ideas about what kind of product to promote on my PS3 gaming blog?

I can't find anything relevant on Clickbank but think a digital product would be better.

Take a look at my sig link to see for yourselves and would REALLY appreciate ANY advice!

    Thanks

    Steven.

Adsense is by far the best. They will only show relevant ads that pertain to your site. Try Comission Junction though..they have thousands of Affiliates. Also go ahead and put adsense on.....throw a skyscraper with text ads and a Banner with image ads.

I have taken your advice trosquin and added adsense. I have been playing around and working out how use adsense and the plugins correctly since you first posted and am quite confident with it now.

I have also removed all other affiliate links and a related plugin but would love some more advice off anyone, adsense related or anything else to optimize and/or monetize my blog.

    Thanks mate

adsense is one of the most reliable source to monetize your blog. you can also try affiliate marketing but it is really hard to make sign ups you need quality traffic to get some conversion from your site.

I stick to adsense most of the times, I participate in very few affiliates programs but give decent results.

Yep, gonna stick to adsense for the time being and try to master it.

I think the adsense ads I have on now look ok but I am open to some critique from someone more experienced than me if anyone would like to look at my blog in my sig link.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

But tell me something, what gave you that sudden burst in visitors, right from 40 to 3000+? share that man

also tell for how many months have you worked for on it and what all you did.

I think File Planet, World of Warcraft, Warhammer, and some of the other online MMORPG games may have affiliate programs. I would check their sites instead. They are not PS3 games, but they are computer games which may convert well considering your type of audience.

if your traffic is REAL and not a traffic generator. Then you could rent advertising space or links.
    or you could sell traffic.

A website that needs traffic like yours .. put a link = "Check this out!!!"
and they get a percentage of traffic thats curious.
    lol

    I will look into this.

I have recently hired a writer as I have no confidence in writing decent content.

She has been in the gaming market for quite a while and must have good followings on big gaming sites/forums on which she puts links to my site when she finishes writing a post.

I have been working on this blog since the beginning of March and was going through Edd Dales Thirtydaychallenge which is where I learned most of my marketing/SEO knowledge.

I came across Digital Point forums and realized that I am better off just hanging around in here to better my blog and learn. The Thirtydaychallenge team recommend not using adsense and had a sales offer plugin (their own) already installed on an almost ready made site (through wordpressdirect.com) which seemed too forceful and cheesy.

I am confident with using Wordpress without assistance now and am eager to learn and earn!

Thanks, I will definitely check these out.

Really appreciate all the advice and would love more :)

My advice is to not use any or use only one small block of non-invasive ads for now. You really need to build up a following of trustworthy RSS readers and visitors before you will make any serious money with advertising.

Not sure if this post was meant to be helpful but don't think it was.

First of all it is 3000 not 300 which is why I actually wrote "3 thousand" in my first post .

Secondly, who mentioned making serious money? I am after making ANY money as I am just starting out.

From the writer I hired who posted links on her well established gaming accounts.

I got lots of comments so the traffic is real.
