I am having problem with duplicate meta description and meta titles at google webmaster tools. I have installed all in one seo but i have never written the descriptions myself. Is there a good way of auto generating the meta descriptions? Which is the best plugin for that?
DO they really help the rankings?
Also If i install the auto meta description generation plugin, will all my previous posts get updated?

And I want a wordpress them with the highest Adsense CTR. Please provide such a nice one with the Highest Adsense CTR.

My Similar Posts plugin doesn't work, just shows random posts. Which is the best plugin for related posts and what settings should we use in it?

Also, please help me with Cron Jobs. I installed an auto updating blog with feeds. How can they be updated with cron job? I use the phpmyvideoblog plugin. The cron job requires a security key and doesn't work. I have the security key but how to use it with cron job?
THere is another option to auto update the blog that is via wordpress schedule, but that doesn't fetch the videos and just makes one post everyday with some text. It isn't updating all feeds.

    Please help.

From a strict SEO perspective the meta description and meta keywords do NOT result in higher search engine rankings with the major search engines. That being said the meta description is sometimes used by Google as the description for your pages in a Google SERP, so it in theory can result in a slightly better click thru rate from Google if the description sells your page better than a random text from the page.

Personally I don't worry about the contents of them, but my theme customers do so found a way to add a unique meta description using the excerpt function. If you don't write a unique excerpt for a post it uses the default excerpt (the first X number of characters from a post), if you write a unique excerpt it uses that for the meta description. Pretty cool, have to thank a customer for the inspiration and reasonably confident I'm the first to use the excerpt in this way :)

What I did was use the rss version of the excerpt function as the meta description for single blog posts and pages, I also use the title of a post as the meta keywords so it's all automated (no plugins needed). View source of http://www.google-adsense-templates...talian-with-adsense-and-seo-optimisation.html to see an example of a page using this coding. On the home page and other archive type pages I use the name of the site or the name of a category/tag/search result for those meta tags.

On your cron job problem, not heard of a security key related to cron jobs, I guess it's specific to the plugin? On my auto blogs I use a free plugin with a LOT of custom coding and just have to setup up a simple cron job to run a specific php file at regular intervals for each blog. The plugin I use doesn't add videos though, so looking for a plugin for that. Is PHP MyVideoBlog meant to pull the video to your site or something?

Thanks a lot David for taking the time to help me out. +rep added.

I don't have any duplicate content, stolen or other bad content on my blog but google shows duplicate meta description and titles. I don't have an idea how to use the codes and other stuff. I hope there was a simple plugin to do all the meta descriptions and titles. All in one seo also Doesn't work for me!

PHP my video blog helps pull videos from sites into your blog. Yes, there is a php file which i have to run via cron job. But everytime the file is run by cron job, i get an email notification saying that "Access denied".

I created an empty php file which the plugin asks me to run via cron job. Any idea this problem can be solved? And the developer doesn't provide any support to me!! I wouldn't mind paying more for getting some support!

well !! a recommendation, try to write description for each page, it will solve ur duplicate meta problem.

apart from that chances are, you have category and tag with same name, which can also result into duplicate title, description,

Well, here is how SEO All in One works - it adds meta description to the place where <?php wp_head(); ?> is placed in your template.

If you have duplicate meta - simply remove the original meta from wordpress templates located in /wp-content/templates/

As caffeinatedworld said All in one SEO adds it's own meta tags so you have to remove the default ones in the theme you are using. This should be really easy.

Usually it's a case of loading header.php from the theme you use into a text editor or the WordPress theme editor and finding two lines of code that start like this:

    <meta name="description" content=".....
    <meta name="keywords" content="......

Delete those two lines, save upload etc... and now you should only see the meta tags from the All in SEO plugin.

I've had this problem with a few customers who use that plugin despite it offering nothing useful not already included in my themes!

I've not used the auto blog plugin you are using so no idea why it's not working. I will say doesn't sound right to run a blank php file, if there's no code in the php file why would it do anything? But again maybe the plugin is meant to work that way.

Thanks a lot David, arthaseo and caffeinatedworld.

The reason you pointed out must be true. I will try the recommended solution for the duplicate meta description problem.

David, regarding the auto blog plugin what you said is correct. I was doing it the wrong way. The developer actually didn't provide the instructions in the pdf file and i was able to do in the harder way. Actually i started another thread to get support for that plugin and got the problem sorted out.
It is just that i have to run a cron php file or can make a new php file by the name securitykey.php The security key is provided by the plugin. Problem sorted out now.

Friends, Thanks a lot for your help.
