Estimated web spaces for a discussion site

    Hi Friends,

    Can anyone suggest the web space needed for a technical help bulletin board. Or some one have already owned such type of forum and can guide me for web space and database

    it depends on the activity and whether you allow attachments or not. a new one shouldn't require more than 300mb diskspace.

    There will not any attachement, picture/photos, avtar etc...

    One of our local host suggest me that I should start with 25 MB for rs 2500. I thnik it will not sufficient !! Will it??

    25MB is too less, get atleast 250mb. have a little room for expansion;)

    I have a ~3 million message forum (between posts, chat messages, and private messages), which fits nice and tight into about two gigabytes all told. Forums don't take a great deal of room, but you will probably want to consider every five thousand messages may take up to 10 megabytes of space.

    Thanks you all .. carry on if you have some more information.. because i believe its a question of many newcomer who want to earn by a forum..it will helpfull for all of them
