Good new, Troy. It will help we keep the good impression about CPALead's gateway with the visitors. The reason I want to report the bad sites to CPALead is I hope the CPALead can live a longtime, but not to destroy the business of other guys.

Guys, if you're going to start posting & reporting sites on a public forum, please beware that the owners who are getting banned can always turn around and start reporting you to your host for copyright content. I talked with hostgator and a few other large hosts and they don't want me direct linking or embedding copyrighted movies... So unless you have a offshore server you are not safe.

Instead of posting here, I recommend that you PM Troy or email him from cpalead.

 

I would love it if CPALead Could put up a "How to Make Custom Gateway Skins" Tutorial.

I spent a few hours creating a skin that worked perfectly with the overlay of the CPAlead gateway.

I used George's portfolio as a starting point but found the dimensions to be too high which made the powered by CPAlead and the Help button not exactly lineup as his demo screenshot showed (possibly something I didn't do correctly). I ended up using the following dimensions:

Pixel Size: 526 x 262

Here is an example blank starting place which is far more basic than my actual final product.



You can simply throw on a background if you want, or you can really edit the template as I did on my final product which I can't really show here due to my choice to keep the site URL private. You may notice the small box on the template on the bottom right corner? Why? Well if you take a look at my screenshot below you will see why that additional box is added there.

That was my exact thought process as well. I used some site elements such as my main logo and the background of my site so the shift from my site to an "external" survey was very transparent to my visitors. I think it is important to make it clear to visitors that this is the site owner asking them to fill-out a simple survey. Rather than some POP-UP ad they are used to seeing is trying to trick them into something. Trust is important. Something as intrusive as a forced gateway, really means you have to step lightly.

i love CPALead atm. its working great.

i only have a few points, i would like to offer my content for free and i dont like to let my clients pay for things like ringtones.
the only problem is that i dont realy know what the pay surveys are and the non pay.

does anyone has a way to find this out? because i can test the most of the surveys since im non american.

btw troy,
i have already sugessted it but about 1/3 of my trafic is european.
but there are almost no european surveys.
it would be great if there would be some more european surveys because after doing 1 or 2 surveys some of my users can not continue and that is a bit of a problem :S

 

I want to promote offers individually without using Gateway. How i can do it?

 

I want to show Gateway when someone click on particular category not individual page or post. Like someone click on category like ' View Movie' , gateway should popup. Is there any solution for this?

First of all i want to apologize with the CPALead administrators, publishers and advertisers, second i want to try to explain this to everyone.

Im at my first month in IM and CPALead, the Movies/TvShow Method is my first venture online. As i explained to Troy via Pm this method of earning money was teached to me by a friend, and since i see that many persons were doing it and the message on CPALead Panel only advised about ADULT content i thought it was fine, BUT about two days ago reading this thread i became aware that this kind of websites were reason for account termination.

Im now working on correcting this to get the site with real content but since is taking me more than i expected (i wanted to have it fixed for today) i have decided to put down the website until this is fixed. I hope that i can get the chance to correct this and not be banned from your great company. I promise to be active in this thread in the future so something like this doesnt happen to me again.

There are european surveys, It's "play FreeLotto" (international survey).. But it looks it doesn't convert very well.. I've asked Jeremey for more International Surveys..

Yesterday, bad day.. I woke up this morning and logged in CPALead and saw just a few clicks, not normal for more than 500 visitors in one night. Joomla changed my gateway script, pff.. So everybody was watching tv shows for FREE!! But I changed everything now in the source code!

PS. Wich gateway script you guys using?

Because I've tried the one from this thread, but when I visit a page for testing.. It says "You must turn off adblock etc." But I don't have adblock installed at my Mac. I use Firefox, but no adblock plugin.

 

Would it be possible to download the gateway script and edit it ? and then use the local version ?

 

I think they will give you a chance to correct it. I remember Troy has ever said that in the previous posts. So don't worry. But I think you shouldn't do it again. Also, I hope you will not hate me because I public your site here. If I send a PM to Troy, instead of posting here, may you don't have any chance

 

i signed up wit cpalead after comin to know from one frnd.

i used the gateway in one of my blog but the survey is not available in my country n it is redirected to somethin else.
wats the prob n wat shud i do?
i hav a quality of visitors around 1k daily.

 

That means the survey is not available in your country. If somebody visits your website and he is from outside US, he will get a international survey or one from his country.. Nothing to worry about..

My advice would be a Custom Gateway Image, try and sell the fact your primary concern is the content, not the revenue earned from the Gateway. Take for instance an episode on my site:

The tease time is a powerful way to coax in some leads, let the users take in the page they have just navigated to and started browsing your content. In my situation, the tease time is 22 seconds; this allows the user to navigate the page and locate my video content, begin streaming and finally the gateway appears as the video has started playing.

On the Gateway, I assure the user again that we are the authority Top Gear streaming site and that completing one simple survey will unlock the site for 24 hours and they have access to every episode of Top Gear in that time - seems like a great deal right?

You basically have to sell your content here, why should they complete the survey? Can't they just find the content elsewhere?
