    As far as I know, there isn't any risk involved. I havn't done it yet for me though. But, I have heard from my friends that with laser, your eye power make fixed at 6/6.

    Yes you can undergo treatment safely, though some people, advise not to go for laser therapy. Laser therapy can correct up +/- 6 myopia or hypermetropia.

    good luck

    current treatment for eyes included Radial Keratotomy, ALK Automated Lamellar Keratomileusis, PRK Photorefractive Keratectomy, LASIK Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis and ICL Implantable Contact Lens.
    would recommend you more better than laser treatment.
    you can go for a new tech - ICL contact lens.
    this is not same as what the contact lens peoples are using now,it's a very small lens and place on the lens of the eyes.
    the advantage is don't have all the side effect of laser (can cause blindness,although it less than 0.1%),and can change the lens if your power change in later time.
    for more information,please refer to http://www.docshop.com/education/vision/refractive/icl/faq/

    it will be etchy or may burn
    is it right..

    I used to design medical equipment for eye surgery. If you ever had such surgery, there is a 50/50 chance my equipment was used but I don't claim to be an expert in this any longer.
    Do NOT get RK. Any doctor recommending this is a butcher though there are circumstances where this is the only solution. I recommend LASIK and my wife and I have both had it done.

    Make sure you go with a reputable doctor and not the cheapest you see advertised. I've seen it as low as $800 per eye. I paid $2400 per eye about 12 years ago and was told my doctor probably still charges that amount. He's one of the USAs first and best in this area.
    I don't know anything about these.

    Yeah...RK is old hat and fraught with danger. Lasik is the way to go. I know plenty of people had it done and they are very happy with the results.

    I have also heard that Lasik has been safe and successful for people, but naturally there are always going to be risks involved with any surgery.

    It’s called laser eye surgery. Lesser or greater every surgery has a risks :(. Laser eye treatment does have some risks involved also. My doctor suggested me, better I use glasses. There’re some common side effects or risks of laser eye treatment:

    * Undercorrection or Overcorrection
    * Dry Eye
    * Eye Infection
    * Flap Loss
    * Halo Effect

    why do you want to correct your eyesight?

    -2.5 is very much manageable..

    none of the corrective procedures are 100% risk-free.

    unless it is absolutely necessary, these are best avoided.

    wearing glasses isn't that bad...I have been wearing glasses since I was 7...:).

    -2.5? can you get them special lenses where they cut the top layer of skin over the pupil and insert a lense that lasts around 5 years i think, there alot cheaper option but not as effective for higher -'s!

    i hav been waring glasses since last 15 years.
    and i m afraid i have to wear for my whole life.. i hate it.
    Tried contact lenses.. but i think that irritates.
    so i thought of laser. thats the only way to get rid of glasses..

    I think if you have presbyopia or you need glasses for reading and you have both eyes corrected for distance, then you will still need it after a LASIK.
