So I've seen some god awful sales pages for CB products. In fact I have a personal belief that 99% of CB sales pages suck ass. If its not a shitty in terms of content, its shitty in terms of format. If its not shitty in terms of format its shitty in terms of content. You just cant win.

In fact, I would bet my entire IM career that Im losing 90% of my leads due to these absolutley terrible sale pages.

It really pisses me off. You spend so much effort getting people interested in a solution then these fuck ups go and blow the whole thing with their hard sell sales pages that offer completely unlikely results that look like they've been drafted by the same idiots who are buying the fucking products. CHRIST.

I DO HAVE A QUESTION. THIS THREAD ISNT JUST A RANT.

Is there any way of designing your own sales pages for CB products so you dont have to link to their shit in order to convert?

    Thanks dudes.

    Shape.

Yes... you can link directly to the order form from your own sales page. There are a number of ways to do it (some not so kosher, be careful)

But if you research you'll find that a lot of the so-called shitty pages actually convert well, and that's what it's all about!

I've seen (what appear to be) sub-standard pages convert better than some beautiful pages that look like shoe-in's.

can you list some points that you believe make a good sales page?

Do you have examples and data (say from cbengine) to show which ones truly suck and which ones dont.

I think the idea of directly linking to the order form is awesome! Might try it myself.

YOu have to look at the pages from a perspective of a common average person and not as a marketer ;) People believe these pages more than you think.
Do you think all thse thousands of vendors on CB are so stupid that they will ALL use a format which doesnt convert?

Most people on CB are selling ebooks and are positioning them as something they personally wrote and have expertise with.

REGARDING DESIGN: In the case of ebooks, the page "needs" to look like an individual wrote it and built it to convert well. If it was "too professional" it wouldn't add up as authentic product from an individual in the consumers mind. On the flip side, if you are positioning yourself as a big company(think infomericial products) then to convert well you need a much slicker design because logically if your product is selling nationally you should be able to afford a nice website.

REGARDING CONTENT: The page just needs ample proof (preferrable from third parties). Admittedly, most of it is faked on CB but it's better than nothing at all.
