Also, you have to be really careful - they ban you very easily for adding links to your answers, even good and thoughtful (and winning) answers. FYI.

The links on yahoo answers are no-follow since a very long time and it would be useless if you are active there, just for PR!

If you are looking for organic visitors to your site, then that place is still very very useful!

Since from the beginning. It is Yahoo. So they don't even bother whether it is dofollow or not.

Look at more broader side. Links is more than just for PR. Traffics what the matter most and that is what you're going to get if use Yahoo Answer wisely.

They're using Yahoo Answer purposely not for getting PR juice but for traffics to their site because Yahoo Answer is an authority site and the questions and answers there are well index in a search engine.

Yes nofollow tag is there for ages in Yahoo Answers...But it is not the PR for which we post there
in Yahoo Answers but for real clicks from targeted real prospects interested in that niche/solution.

It is not about raising PR of your links when you answer in YA, but it is about presenting your product,
or affiliate link to someone who is already interested in that....

Yahoo answers can be good for bum marketing but never for links. In fact I only add links without the Http so that people actually types the url.. so as to filter our tire kickers and also it help not getting banned.

You need not be active, but you neeed to be smart.. eg.. It is very easy to get a yahoo answers page ranked.

It's been that way for a while. Yahoo! Answers is a good way to build your brand in a particular niche, though.

It's been nofollow for a long while now. However, IMHO Google does see the links and if the links are coming from an 'Authority Site' I believe google does give those links some juice. A good thing to remember about Yahoo Answers is that provide a link, although it won't help your Pagerank, will help you get Targeted Visitors who are interested in your website.

That`s right. I had a few questions on yahoo answers and got spam as answer. Not even related to my question.

Most people that use Yahoo Answers are not SEOs or internet marketers. They are regular everyday people who could care less about links, etc.

Do a search for "car insurance" or something related and filter ones posted within the last 7 days. It's some serious spam replies of people linking their quote sites. I helped answer questions all the time in this area but stopped as more came because I don't want to be associated with that trash. Most replies aren't even related to the question and are clearly done cut and paste bot style.

    EXAMPLE

or read the last 4 worthless replies:
    Here

This is just one example of an area over run with spam and link bots. Most of the sites they link are just quote forms so they can sell your info to anyone and everyone insurance related or not.

When you read the services section of this forum and see the many threads offering dozens and hundreds of yahoo answer links for a couple bucks, you know where this trash comes from ;)
