You just switched topics. You were lambasting modern Christians for "Castigating" non Christians, not for torturing them. I know these topic switches are your only defense, but seriously..... take some ridelin, watching your argumentation is a lot like Nancy Pelosi explain how she was lied to. I see. So you know ANY Christians in this day and age that torture heretics? Sounds like someone is living in the "bronze age", and it isnt the Christians.... Yes yes, the reason you are the only one who believes that is because your the only one who doesn't know how to use a dictionary. You shouldn't look at books as scary, even when they say something that doesn't agree with your views. It seems it was the Catholics who burned people at the stake for possession of a bible, and the Muslims who arrest and imprison people for possessing "Satanic Versus" by Salmon Rushdie. Should I be concerned about owning a dictionary if the Atheists come to power?
Thanks to society becoming more civilised and laws against violence being brought in they are no longer able to murder and torture people for their god. A lot would like to though. Their little book says gays, and a number of other people, should be murdered for trivial imaginary crimes. so if they actually believe this shit as much as they profess to, they would have to be itching to kill someone. A = without theism = belief in god people who lack a belief in god are atheists, you lack a belief in god, ergo, you are an atheist. When are you going to "come out" as a christian masquerading as an atheist?
Completely ignored your words complaining about castigation I see. Off on your new topic. Now its all about how christians today would torture heritics if there weren't laws against it. And Atheists would have sex with small children if there weren't laws against it. Wheeeee!!!!! No evidence required..... What fun. Shazzam!!!! Moonbat doesn't even begin to describe.
Atheists don't believe in a book which instructs them to do that though. Christians do believe a book exists, which is the word of god, and in that book they are instructed to kill gays. Yet another flawed analogy from you.
LMFAO. Killing gays is a christian doctrine.... a BIG SHAZAM for that one!! Let me guess... you read that somewhere? In one of the "Scientific" journals you read? Your high priest of atheism told you that? Here is something a bit more plausible. An Atheist raised without a moral compass fills himself with the philosophy of Friedrich Neitzsche and decides to open a sweatshop selling knock off sportswear. The labor for the sweatshop provided by the elderest of the slaves illegally smuggled in from china, while the youngest are used as prostitutes. The man rapes 12 year olds, makes a living off of slave labor, and justifies it to himself by saying, "Nothing is right or wrong, only thinking makes it so". That scenario is not only realistic, it happens in our day and age making it a lot more plausible than your "The bible tells christians to torture and kill people".
No i read it in the bible. Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." oops, looks like you got schooled.... again. What a fascinating made up scenario which has no basis in reality. Have you given up on fabricating personal anecdotes now and have resorted to just pulling stuff out of your ass and posting it? typical christian.
I see. Old testament quote. Let me guess, Christians are also supposed to march out and conquer the Philistines with four priests holding the ark of the covenant at the front of their army? Do you know ANYTHING about Christians? Anything at all? Sun Tzu says you should know your enemy and yourself. He also said a victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won. Failure on ll three fronts? Ah, what did he know about it. Yes.... Yes you did. It makes me happy to see you quoting me. I doubt you realize that your scenario of Christians wanting to "torture" heretics in this day and age is the fabrication you pointed out, but keep working on it. You know they managed to get a monkey pilot a space capsule right? P.S. Shazam!
I was raised without religion at many points in my youth, I read who you just mentioned along with Marx and I topped it off with Mein Kampf. The latter was poorly written and utter shite to be honest, nothing made any sense and the only reason I finished it was I kept adding on little phrases to make it funny. Well, here I am today, and I can say that I don't believe sex with children is good (unlike what has happened in the churches of all religions - not just the Catholics), I don't follow the socialist ideals, and I believe in strict constitutionalism and the rights of individuals are more important than the rights of the many (government). Where is your God now? Certainly is not within me or directing me, as if he was it kills the idea of "free will", and if he wasn't that means I made my own choices and came to my own conclusions of right and wrong, and I did so mainly through rebellion from the little religion I was exposed to. I have not killed, maimed, hurt, or even been in a physical altercation with another human being. I like animals. I like nature. I respect both. I hate humanity, however that is what is called misanthropy, and it is often misinterpreted as a hatred of everyone universally. Look it up. I also have not committed a single crime, I have never been issued a ticket, and I have never been sued. My record is cleaner than most. I don't drink, smoke, or use any narcotics, and I have never tried a single of the aforementioned. Yet here I am, a godless heretic who you associate with pedophilia by virtue of your own fallacy ridden arguments against atheism in trying to prove a point to stOx (which failed by virtue of a disconnect in the logic). Am I the one with the problem? Am I some kind of monster? Or is it the people who aren't like me, the ones who do drugs and pray to Jesus, who murder and then are born again or accept Muhammad, the folks who say that America is damned because there are homosexuals and bisexuals (there are both in almost all species of mammals too...), that anyone who does not believe in their god is going to die and burn in hell, no matter what kind of life they lived, that they will suffer for eternity in pain and agony just because they refused to accept the idea. What kind of madness is this? What kind of insanity dictates that I will burn in hell, that I was born with sin, and that I am evil... if I have never actually hurt another human being and would rather be left alone? Does this mean Ghandi, Buddha, and anyone else not of the 'One True Faith' will burn in hell? Does this mean, if you killed 900 people and then converted at the last minute you get to go to heaven? Your system sucks. It sucks royally. I'm happy to burn in hell to keep my beliefs as they are, and you can all join me there for all I care. But then again, I already know what awaits me in the ground. I'd much rather become a part of the earth and provide some worms some food, and some grass and trees some fertilizer than go to what you call a heaven. To those who await revelation they want to bring the end of the world on a little bit faster. That's a mental illness and suicidal to me. In fact, you're all mentally ill as far as I am concerned.
Your knowledge of the change in the "Law" from old testament to new shows you know absolutely nothing about what most Christians believe. Period. @Jackuul: You've misinterpreted what I put to print. I'm not generalizing atheists as pedophiles. stOx wishes to generalize Christians as "those who are ordered to kill gays", which is bogus on its own and really doesn't need an argument. I too have read quite a bit of philosophy from Neitzsche and others and I'm not implying that people who read such philosophy have no moral compass. What I stated outright, however is that someone without a moral compass can justify any behavior considered evil by others to themselves. Installation of a moral compass is something most christian religions try to do. While you may take issue with the views of some Christians on abortion and homosexuality, like I do, are you arguing against the Christian stance on murder? If you really believe the idea that Christians are looking to torture heretics in this day and age is more likely than the scenario I painted, you've lost your grip on reality (like stOx).
You should read your bible. Your pastor wouldn't be happy to know not only are you masquerading as an atheist on the internet but you don't even know what your precious story books say. Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished." oh, was that another schooling? looks like it was....
The funniest part about this is I have you reading the bible. Look, you obviously don't get it, but then again, you probably havent been inside a christian church since you were an alter boy at age 5. Christians believe that Jesus was the fulfillment of Jewish prophecy. Its what your quoted scripture there as much as says. Regarding the law, that can be interpreted in a variety of ways, but needless to say there were fundamental changes. Jews no longer the chosen people of god. No more marching around with an ark, killing off non-jews, no more stoning of people for various crimes (let he of you without sin cast the first stone). If somehow you think the Christian faith made all these fundamental changes but hung onto the idea of killing homosexuals, there is little anyone can do to educate you (a point you've actually proven again and again). You seem to think you speak for the Christians, Jews, and now the Military. I'm thinking maybe you should join one of those organizations and you can take home some of your own "bogus anecdotal evidence". You'd be amazed to find that the whole world isn't exactly as described on hate based websites. Regarding schooling, here endith the lesson.. Lets see how you score.
Don't flatter yourself, i have been reading the bible, along with many other books, for a long time. that's how i came to the conclusion that it is a bloodthirsty death cult entrenched in self hatred. What christians "believe" is neither here nor there, Their book clearly states that Jesus was, in no way, here to "abolish the law" and that not a "single letter" will disappear from the law "until heaven and earth disappear". I understand that reading and understanding simple words in plain English is a challenge for you, but to everyone else it's clear, regardless what you claim christians believe.
Couple questions: Doesn't the very fact that the christian religion has had to change and stray away from it's own roots prove it is fallable? Flawed? If it were God's perfect will, would the times not remain frozen in it's principles instead of it changing with the times? IMO, looking at what it says in st0x quote from Mathew 5:17, the people who created (made it up) religion had to have it's key figure state that it was not above law. They were the ones in power and they couldn't have this thing going bad on them. Would you agree? Does this not strike you as a fundamental flaw that at a minimum cracks the very foundation of unshakable faith in it's perfection? Religion is not like everything else in this world. You can't just say "well religion isn't perfect".
only as flawed as science. depending on interpretation sure. Only if you are a fundamentalist. I know the stereotype you are aiming at, and it certainly fits, some, many. Not so sure about most, and I doubt you are either. Obviously not the dictionary. I've read your writings and come to the same conclusion about you. Does that make you religious? So you are going to interpret which parts of the law jesus changed and which he fulfilled/ended, and you are going with that fundamentalist interpretation, regardless of what Christians believe. Hell, you should open your own church. Call it the gods house of self loathing, fundamentalist hate based teachings, and bigotry. I'm sure there are others out there like you .
If "christians" are going to reject the very words jesus supposedly said then i don't know on what grounds they are christians. But like i have long suspected, They cherry pick which bits they need to justify any given opinion at any given time and if they find a passage which goes against what they already believe they simply ignore it. Christians don't look to the bible for guidance, they look to it for justification of opinions they already have. hate gays? Quote the bible. Want to work on the sabbath? Ignore it.
Yes, whatever they believe is bullshit anyway, it's based on fairy tales they tell each other on sundays and in the family. No wonder young americans are fed up with that crap.
Www.. wha... Wow. Wait a minute. Are you trying to imply Christians might not take every word of the bible as literal and at face value? They don't "Pluck their eye out" if it offends them? They don't seek to put sinners to death? MY GOD MAN! WHAT A REVELATION! There might be hope for you yet! Still no reason for you not to foster hate against a group based on a general association with a name which you sterotype though. Carry on!!
