So say there are weapons there (e.g missiles) and they kill people in Israel with those weapons,...the bulk of their weapons [rumored to be in the thousands] have no guidance and will hit randomly . Thus the chose might be to not kill innocent life there (according to your values), but that may ultimately mean Israel will lose it's innocent people. Fairly sticky chose. So that's your view. Please let me know what you think about this......? "I think they should do what they should done in Iraq from the beginning. Request a certain area to be vacated through checkpoints....or in this case to go to the coast and be checked out...so that innocent individuals have a chance to get out (have the UN feed them for a temporary time), while the militants will mostly likely not leave their weapons. At that point your much more open to take-out targets without worry of hurting innocent life, and you take away the weapons...and you destroy any enemy on the land. It would be the most effectively way to deal with terrorist or insurgents. Thoughts?"
I understand what your saying, and I'm thinking you want a 'war' that would be judicial in it's action ie it would only specifical kill those involved?
It's not a bad idea as long as you have an effective way to getting the message to everyone, and they actually have the ability to leave.
I believe I read that Israel gave that warning just a few days ago. Yeah, I know it's late, but I'm thinking it's in terms of their ground assault, which would be a rather nasty thing if civilians were present. If the UN had the balls, the could have make a coalition to do this a long-time ago...and made it more 'pc' have you, so that the Lebanon, which were obligated to take full control of Lebanon militarily, wouldn't have this occurence at all. If we had a valid UN we'd have little if any problems in the world, just by the shear economic, and military strength...I'm sure if we could actually support the ideals similiar to your own, we'd not have the mixed messages coming from different nations e.g Russia selling weapons technology to iran or france banks supporting the oil for food program.
Israel is targeting civilians as a collective punishment, taking out power and water. That is a terrorist act and if it was done to a region in the US you would be ready to go invade somewhere in retaliation. They are also killing mainly civilians and this is not cool. Israel has the technology and capacity to target terrorists with a much greater degree of accuracy, however it is not doing this. Its collective punishment and its ethnic cleansing. Does the collective punishment being inflicted on the Lebanese remind anyone else of a place called Lidice? Any country has the right to defend itself and that includes Israel, however these brutish tactics will just breed more terrorists who will both want to wipe both Israel and the US off the map. They are becomming worse than the terrorists and that is not only wrong, its stupid.
Well then, maybe they should have thought twice about abducting two soldiers and launching thousands of rockets.....
Kidnapping 2 soilders=At least 319 Lebanese and 34 Israelis have been killed since fighting began. So because you say stupid things I would be justified in bitchslapping you back to the stone age? I like that logic.
They didn't say they were going to kidnap soldiers they did. Now, is it fair if you only rape two women that you should get life in prison? I mean, by your logic, the guy should just get rump jumped twice and be done with it. NO, the deterrence has to be horrific enough to stop the guy from raping, in this case life in prison makes some people think before acting and acts as a deterrence. Personally? Lebanon has brought this on themselves, they should have cleaned up their shit hole country, now Israel is going to do it for them...
Equals? You think war is supposed to be fair? "A weapon for you, a rocket for you. One tank for thee, one missle for me." Moonbat thinking at it's finest.
Seems like you cant tell the differnce between a Civilian and a terrorist. its not a fucking football match. Those are INNOCENT people being killed, not Hamas, not PLO, not terrorists. WOMEN AND CHILDREN, ON BOTH SIDES. Sure if 2 soldiers get get killed go out and shoot 100 terrorists. dont bomb 100 civilians. I was wrong, bush isnt the warmonger. YOU ARE.
You should be directing your anger at the pussy terrorist that hide behind the skirts of women or in a school full of kids!
To avoid civilian casualties in Southern Lebanon (which is a Hezbollah stronghold), Israel done more than any other country would: a) dropped leaflets over the areas it was targeting, b) had an automated phone call placed in every home in the area urging civilians to leave, c) setup a radio station on the border and broadcast the warning to Southern Lebanon to leave the area. In the meantime, among the latest things that freaking Hizzbollah did is an order to not bury its casualties and instead put civilian clothes on them (hmm, I wonder why they would do such a thing...).
Why, because i think 100+ dead civilians is a bad thing. I think terrorists are nasty pieces of shit but I dont consider that as an excuse for ethnic cleansing. If I had my way we would have Osama and Dubya in a ring together with baseball bats and let them slog it out. Then do the same with the politicians and the terrorists. I am sick of being stuck on a planet between 2 groups of extremists. Who wins in a fight to the death between a redneck and a suicide bomber Society.
Ynow henry, thats the first smart thing I have heard you say. I agree. 1% of the Iraq war budget could have stopped that whole mess. Puts things into perspective. Time to Pray for Africa.
Only when Israel is fighting back. Of course, I did enjoy your comments about how vile hezbollah and hamas are for hiding behind civilian women and children and how they are, and have been, firing rockets into Israel targeting civilians. I enjoyed your fair and balanced concern that hez and hamas started this whole ordeal by crossing borders to kidnap soldiers and their constant firing of rockets into Israel. Oh wait, that wasn't you, was it? Never mind...
