I personally never tried Second Life for Marketing! But I saw Big Brands like adidas etc have shops inside which obviously shows that Second Life can be used as a good marketing tool (maybe for Branding!)....

Maybe in a few years we'll be buying ad space on 2nd life but for now it's still trying to get global, I doubt anyone not from the west has even heard of 2nd life...

I logged into 2nd life once.. If what I saw was any indication as to what the entire game is like, it's a bunch of societal rejects sitting around talking about medical conditions, how they're bored, and/or that their life sucks.

It could be a good source of revenue if your product is marketed for mindless zombie consumers. You know the type, the ones that can be easily hypnotized with flashing lights, bells and whistles to say "I NEED that".

BTW, thanks for reminding me why I moved out of the US.

I've honestly never tried it, but if it's possible, I would think that it would be very expensive.

Yes. You need to develop your custom virtual products and also ads within the second life is costly! Maybe you can pay in linden dollars!;)
