Actually that's not true at all. I have a very new site on the first page of Google for a single word term that is mildly competitive (though single words are competitive as is) and it has just a PR2 PageRank matters very little...I have ranked PR 1 sites # 1 for two word terms as well....some for over 3 years straight!!! What matters most is high quality on topic links....Even content does not matter much...stale content sites are sitting at # 1 as well.
The age of the backlinks and age of the site (content, niche) The age of the domain doesn't matter too much especially if it has been parked.
exactly. I had a blog go to position #3 for a pretty competitive keyword, with a PR of 0 or 1. My on-site SEO was simplistic but aggresive, and I had quite a few backlinks, mostly from commenting on other blogs that I read. I stayed at #3 for a while, but if you don't update your site, and don't work at keeping fresh or higher-quality backlinks, you'll drop off the radar.
Ive had no link at all.. Mhm, My site shows now at mid-page of result page 14. Can someone explain what backlinking is and an effective way of using it?
