webhost for video site [suggestion need]

first let me ask you a question.
i wanna open a site like tube8.com or redtube.com
how much disc space & b/w i should have ??

now plz suggest me among these host:

first tell me which one is best: WebTHosting Shared vs. WebTHosting VPS

here im confussed in one thing. their shared host has 1000MBPS (1GBPS) Port speedy connection while VPS has 10MBPS UL connection (vps package C)....I always thought VPS is more speedy than shared. but here's im seeing opposite....can anyone explain plz ??

I would recommend a VPS Package or a dedicated server. But, since you are just starting out.. I would choose a VPS Package, so you can save money.

Shared port = thousand of sites sharing that speed. That's a good connection since the average of a server is 100Mbps.
Aniway, bandwidth isn't the only thing needed for a website

 

take a look at hostv.com (for VPS), it is the same company of critexhosting (for shared hosting). Had a auto installer for tube sites. adult allowed. I had a shared hosting account with them.. So far it is ok.

 

if thousands of site...lets think 1000 sites share 1000MBPS then every site should get only 1 MBPS

They use dedicated server and ofc if you need your video to stream fast enuff you will need 1gbps port.. I did try with 100mbps port and the result is.. loading was really slow if you have like 100 ppl streaming at the same time and yes you need unmetered bw.. 1 day average for 60mb video with 30 online average is about 1tb ++..

 

If you want to get the site running well, I suggest a VPS or Dedicated Server

If you are just Starting, go for shared hosting as for first 2-3month you won't have much traffic. when you start getting popular then you can migrate to VPS. so get a shared hosting package which support multimedia sites and pay monthly so you can upgrade anytime

Remember choose a webhost which has FFMPEG/Mencoder etc installed as video sharing site needs all these tools to run.

i think santex cheat him on hosting deal and steal his wife...

 

never go to santrex, their speeds are ridiculous. they sabotage the speed, so that you will ask to terminate that crap. then they say they dont give refund. do not go to santrex.

i even had trouble importing my sql database, some guy said i should upload it to him, i still havent heard from him. dont use santrex.

if u have a big site with a huge database, dont even bother, cuz u gonna have lots of problems, ask them for their php info
