Wordpress automatic update problem

Any advice on how to make it work?

I tried various settings, including those that I really believe right!

    This is what I get:

    "Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.7.1.zip

    Unpacking the core update

    Could not copy file: /public_html/wp-content/upgrade/core/wordpress/wp-trackback.php

    Installation Failed"

    Same thing with plugins...

    Any idea?

    Thanks very much!

    :)

One of two things is happening here: 1) your upgrade folder doesn't have write permissions. This could be easily fixed by chmodding it to 777, or 2) the problem is your internet connection, the download got somehow corrupted and Wordpress cannot upgrade.

Wait, are you using the Auto Update plug-in to do this?

I use a plug-in that does it for me. Google "auto update wordpress plugin". Click the first link. I can't post links yet. Sorry.

Works great for me. Hope that helps!

    Yes, it's the update plugin.

It sounds like Ikki is right. This has been happening since I transfered my blog, I am going to check the permissions, thanks very much!

Unfortunately not. Is it the "upgrade" folder that you're talking about? Because I tried that (now 777), and it doesn't work...

Connection is fine, and I tried 3 different ones...

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
