I took one a bit ago for my back, I wanted to get some work done but I'm so spacey feeling I simply can not work.

I don't see how people can live off of them, I personally hate them!

If you had some side effects with a medication does not mean every body will have side effects. the medication is not suitable for you, but may be suitable for someone. every medication have some side effects for somebody but not foe everybody.

Ummm the point of them is to 'relax' your muscles, it's not a side effect but what it's supposed to do, I personally do not like it.

Could it be an overdose? Try asking your doctor and maybe taking a lighter dose. But honestly for such medications, if you can help it, do not take. Take a few deep breathes, try to relax naturally.

no not an over dose, it's what they do, and I simply hate the 'out of it' feeling.

They do make you feel kind of out of it but if you have a muscle spasm in your back you wont care

I'd love a spasm, that'd be much better than what I have.

There is alot of ways you can relax your muscle, I dont think you hate all the ways. If you research you find one that you like most and stick to it. Good luck.

Yes a massage would be great, not going to pay for one though, and nobody to give me one.

I have tried many, many ways, nothing works. It's not the muscles, my low back is beyond messed, because of it the muscles flare up. It's not even the muscle that hurts, the spine itself, once it start hurting bad though it goes outward to everything in the area.

I hear exercise is a cure all, though I have yet to try...

I workout all the time, lack of muscle or exercise is not the issue.

I have 3 narrowing spots in my spine, 2 fully degenerated disks and 1 severely herniated disk

Try an inversion table. My back is screwed, but I've had very little pain since I started hanging upside down (about a year ago).

It's called an "inversion table". Mine was about $130-140 AUD (about $100 USD) delivered. You can pay WAY more for a brand name one from a store, but they probably all come out of the same factory in China.

Look them up on YouTube - there's lots of crappy advertorials on there, but also some genuine "this thing saved my back" stories.

    @ suman817 - I'm being serious!

Is it scientifically proven? I would love to get one for my relative who is suffering from a very bad back. But it looks kinda of voodoo :)

I have no idea if it's scientifically proven or not, and I don't care: if it feels good - do it :D ... although about ten years ago I knew somebody that bought one on a recommendation from their chiropracter, and it worked for him.

It makes sense to me. Think of the force (body weight + gravity) that our spines have to put up with every day, all an inversion table does is give your spine a break from the pressure - it's just like hanging off the monkey bars when you were a kid.

Check out eBay AU, they're pretty cheap these days (under $150 AUD) - less that 2 visits to the physio or chiropracter. For that kind of money, it's worth a shot.
