If his job title is PR he could change it to BS. You can tell even he doesn't believe what he's saying. PS We are not noobs, we are as bugs bunny might say "what a maroon".
He's a politician really. Don't trust him, don't trust anyone. Try stuff out for yourself and see what happens. This is the exciting part of the internet! His job is to eliminate webspam, he's not going to go out and actively promote methods for gaming the system. Think about it, he's just doing his job, and he does it well
Let me clarify something important to you all. There's much talk about the google algo and how each and every website owner wants to know more about it. Even if you knew 70% of each command in the algorithm, it would take many months and if not even a year to create a big content website applying to all the rules in the google algo. Creating a one page website doesn't apply. My tip to all of you is to create a website you believe visitors would find interesting. No matter what industry! This is really just me simplifying this part, it's a bit more complex than that. But I hope you understand what I mean. Personally I don't want to know any part of the google algorithm, it's best that way. To be honest I dont even think about it. Just learn how to create an attractive website, that visitors finds useful. On a side-note, the web already contains successful websites, spying on competitors and other industry related websites is not illegal, it can help you understand how a website should be built.
I trust matt when i put links:mysite.com i found my links on nofollow so i think it might help if u dun trust him trust me lol
Matt tells you what he can. If you ever worked for a big company Microsoft, HP, Sprint, MCI you will soon identify that he does what he can and can’t say. The trick is to understand what he gives you and read between the lines. You have the examples of Algorithm for the most part, and you can see sites that rank well and have high PageRank. Problems occur when people try to take short cuts and cheat the system. Like I always say its only math.
Couldn't agree more, he's irritating at best and deceptive at worst. When i post on his crummy splog, about 99% of my comments are never approved because they fall in to the "we don't want people to know about that" basket. I'm talking top Alexa sites dominating in Google, plus running Adsense not just skirting the "Webmaster Guidelines" but bending them over and blackhatting them harder than Fantomaster himself. How could he publish that on his blog without pulling the rug from under multi-million dollar sites rankings and punching a hole in Adsense profits?
