As the title clearly suggests, Will India be anywhere even close to being a world superpower by 2020 ???

Whats your opinions??? What do you have to say about it?
How is India seen around the globe?

What's the general opinion about Indians and India around the globe?

    let's discuss !

India will not make it in a decade. It will make it in 50 yrs in time. Our civilization have been put to test for 10000 yrs and many many invaders. No one conquered us, except British. But British didn't come as brave as Alexander. If they did it would of been a different story.

India is invaded by barbarous Arabs and still they are waging war from within India after 1000yrs.

India will make it when Indians, especially Hindus, shut the f**k about one child policy. If Barbarians take over India in next 100yrs-1000yrs, India will be like Iran and Afghanistan. Iran went from Persia, to Iran and now Islamic Republic of Iran. India will be the same, Islamic Republic of India, aka Arab Wh***re House.

India is not even a contender........

The superpowers are miles ahead of India.....there isn't much of a chance for a poor country like India...which can't even feed its people properly.

I personally feel India can make it by 2020. If not by 2020, atleast by 2030.. BRIC ( Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries are developing well @ the present and if India continues to develop @ the present rate, its sure to become a super power :) .. What say??

They definitely have the human capitol. Poverty will always be high there, but a new class of technology workers could make the country with a huge population a major world power.

I don't think it will be in a decade, but I do think they will be a super power one day. India and China are growing fast.

Countries like India, which have the potential, I believe, are being kept in their place by the current super-powers who know their reign is ending. Take the Mumbai incident. There's more to that than meets the eye.

I'm willing to bet Russia and China will be the next dominant powers. However I feel a new cold-war is bound to happen sooner or later, probably when the West is on its knees because of financial terrorism caused by the international bankers.

By 2020 , in india there will be 100% reservation in job and educations ,etc , india will then go to UN and ask for reservations in other countries as well , general category indians will either die out of starvation or meet the same fate which tamilians are meeting now at srilanka .

anyone who doesn't come under any "reserved category" is a general candidate.

Nice explanation. The term "reservation" in itself becomes absurd if everyone gets it.

he didn't mean that everyone will get reservation.

what he meant that by 2020, all seats and vacancies will be reserved for SC's, ST's, OBC's and minorities and there will be nothing left for the others.

I got his point and i was deliberately referring to your definition.

    Coming to your answer now,

if that happens, which i doubt will happen , then reservation will be given to the open category and people who have had reservation would not be given reservation anymore. Thats the logic.

After all, reservation is a balancing act.

To make two unequal spheres made of the same material weight equal, you have two options.

    1. Add mass to the smaller sphere.
    2. Remove mass from the larger sphere.

The former is what we call "Reservation".

Now don't question me as to " Why make the two spheres equal ?"
