Song Lyrics Websites

I have heard a lot of stuff about lyrics websites and I'm not sure whether my 600-1000 visitors a month website is in danger of being sued because of Artists not getting a share of the money from advertising on my website...

The site simply displays lots of lyrics for new songs etc.

Anyone got any recommendations or comments? (or want to buy the site? :p)

Your best bet would be to clearly display the song, the artist, and all other copyright information pertaining to each individual song you have the lyrics for. Make sure your as covered legally as possible.

How does identifying the song, artist, and copyright information provide him any legal protection?

Thanks for your help, the website is still building visitors so I might see if I can sell it to someone who can better manage it...

But then again, I don't know what the "risk" is for a website of this size (small) anyway?

The law requires EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION. Giving credit doesn't fulfill that requirement.

OP, you may be better off just selling it. As it grows so does your risk.
