I tried to search for Google PR changes; however the search needs more then 2 letters to search in this forum. Could you point me to the thread of the recent changes in Google and why my home page PR dropped from 4 to 2 and my subsequent pages are null after having PR 1? My site is over 10 years old and has over 1500 pages --- no big changes have happened recently Thank you!
the site has always been 100% organic with no SEM. the site continues with SEO meta improvements; however not many new pages over the past years.
seems like some kinda penalty but looking at the domain age..its nt possible! check, u might hav lost ur backlinks...or they hav been "nofollowed" its the only reason other than a penalty that can cause the pr drop!
Or there might some changes on Google's algorithm that now move some aspects of ranking, which are not implemented before.
Now I'm guessing this is unique to my and not web site owners wide. It's not an easy answer since the provided search online pulls up files from 2001 or this thread. There are 1000 backlinks, so I don't know how it would be a few nofollows or removals that would do this. I'm interested in the penalty theory. My entire website is now wiped clean of PR with the except of the home page. How would I find out what the penalty is and how to fix it? Maybe that I'm using Text-Link-Ads or other competitors? Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming!
Since how long have you witnessed this drop? If the problem erupted in only last couple of days, give it little more time as big G might have goofed up something in this minor update....and hopefully, the mistake might get rectified..on its own! Regards, RightMan
Actually, this is what I also experienced with one of my sites. The homepage pagerank dropped by 2, and the internal pages respectively. No idea what happened, but ironically, the keyword positions have not been affected yet. I also heard similar complaints in the past couple of days (so that's an update, then). A little confused...
Agreed that my traffic has remained the same and the organic traffic continues to grow. Let's hope it's just an update glitch.
