Something else to consider. When you set up your cronjobs don't have them try to pull too much stuff at once. If you are on a shared server you might just create problems for yourself. Auto content is okay for parts of your site, I mean seriously what is the point of manually posting things like sports scores or weather? However if you think you can just throw up fully automated blogs to pull/scrape content from other sites and make money from them... well good luck with that.
I think you want to create a auto blog. you can use feedwordpress, but i don't think you can earn much out of auto blogs, IMO. good luck.

I enjoy reading your post especially when you said fully automated blogs to pull/scrape content from other sites and make money from them. = My view on this It not worth and waste time. Better back to basic the purpose why people blogging? And Why people read your blog? I think every blogger should blogging what they like, write what they love then reach some stage money will come in multiple element source of income. e.g. selling the blog, sell textlink, product review and many of them..
Seriously, why people here are being so skeptical about earning with autoblog? autoblog can earn some massive adsense and affiliate earning if you do it right...the key is scaling, of course you won't earn so much from just 1 autoblog, but if you have 30-40 autoblogs, $1000/month is a breeze... Wp-o-Matic is complicated if you don't know how to setup cron job...I suggest try to use feedwordpress or autoblogged...also add more content generator plugin like caffeinated content, wp answer, and wp videotube to make your blog look legit and don't put too much content each day...google will deindex your blog if you post more than 10 post every day... Autoblogs are not effective as they used to be. Anyway I am not aware of anyother plugins other than WP-o-Matic. try to analyze why its not working

I have been using Wp-O Matic in 2 of my blogs and it is running fine.... Check that u have made the folder needed to run the plugin and the folder is chmod 777 or u can use other plugins as suggested above
As far as I know, autoblogging stopped being profitable when google changed their rules regarding duplicate content. Have you still been making money with auto blogging? If so I want to know what methods youre using. Thanks for the reply. You can pm me if you'd like.
Auto-blogs (feed-agg blogs) still work. The Google 'duplicate content penalty' has been skewed so many times by people trying to sell you an eBook that people are confused. The real meaning of 'duplicate content' is content that is duplicated on the same domain. For example, if you post the same article 300 times on your site that is what constitutes 'duplicate content'. That's it people. Stop buying SEO eBooks because they are lying to you. The duplicate content penalty got started because people were publishing the same article on their websites multiple times in order to get higher rankings. If you start a blog and post 1 original post per week and pull RSS feeds you can still make money. It's just harder to control the relevancy of the content pulled from RSS to your domain. Content has to be relevant for it to be valuable to Google. Ultimately if you are just auto-blogging to make cash, you are going to be phased out eventually. Why? Because there are too many people doing the real deal blogging and making real impact with their writing. Don't believe all of the hype. Make people happy by giving them those real tasty golden nuggets if you want traffic and don't worry about dumb SEO books because it's all nonsense.
I beg to differ, I've dabbled in BHSEO myself and duplicate content is duplicate content no matter the domain, server, IP etc. Simply scraping sites and publishing content will get you banned in google or at the very least dropped so low in rankings it won't even matter. Yes, I have seen this over and over again for no other factor other than duplicate content. That being said, I will agree it's possible to get away with scraping for a period of time. However, not too long, maybe a few months, Google slaps the domain rarely to be seen again.
That's what I thought. I'm left wondering, will google ban me as a publisher(all my domains) or just the domains in question? I'm thinking that if they only ban the domains in question, and I can use duplicate content for a couple of months with good rankings, then this might be a new venue to test out. My line of thinking right now is that if 30-40 blogs = $1000 per month then 200 blogs = $5000 per month. Now if it costs me $200 for the domain names and they don't ban me for 3 months then my profit would be $14,800. When they slap the blogs I could just start over. Even better, I could just have an ever perpetuating cycle of auto blogs coming out all the time. Is this a realistic thought process, or mere hype thinking?
