    Hey Guys,

I have a gift shop (www.nnforyou.com) that I have started about 7 months ago, and I have been working and making the site work well. I have also worked towards SEO and twitter.

I was getting about 200 unique visitors a month but now now that number is droping. Any new ideas on how to market my site???

If you have a site like mine, how long did it take you to start making money. I am looking to make about 1000-2000 dollars a month. Any ideas on how to get there would be great!

    Thanks,
    Nick

Do some off line marketing. Start a blog with various gift ideas for various occasions. Write some articles about gift ideas and submit it to ezines with backlinks to your site.

Write some articles on hubpages.com and/or Squidoo.com about something to do with gifts. Make the headlines catchy like, "What NEVER To Buy A Woman If You Expect To Sleep With Her" or something like that--you get the picture. Put a link to your store at the end of your articles and in your profile. Link your articles together. Start a blog like brainstormingin said and place links to the articles on the blog. Try to place original content on the blog on a regular fashion. Start an email list by giving your visitors something for free like a Top 100 gift list or something like that. I guess I could go on and on but that should help.

Keep researching SEO and doing that, research ppc, start a blog, dont worry about twitter much yet. SEO and PPC and blogging are biggest things u can do to gain more exposure.

Also try getting people to write blog posts about your store, word of mouth advertising, highly targeted banner advertising.

    Hope these ideas help.

I would suggest you to do offline marketing.

Try giving away customized tissue papers with your website address on the plastic cover. Or get professional writer to prepare a press release for you. :)

Have you thought about Article Marketing? Gaining Backlinks to point to your site? Not easy for an e-commerce site, but very doable.

I would really suggest you submit a couple of Press Releases as well. This will help in immediate exposure and instant organic traffic.

I would be more than happy to help you if you want.

Your best bet is to create a SEO friendly site. Make sure each item you are selling is as descriptive as possible and uses as many possible search terms that people would use to find the item.

Make sure your site is set up to convert all your visitors.. currently, I don't immediately grasp what the site is about when I come to it.
