I have setup a forum on that and have started seo and link building for my forum - www.aboutcomputer.org. Besides this i had started viral social marketing.can you state Which marketing method do you think can well promote my forum?
Word of mouth! But for people to share it with their friends.... you need to offer them an extraordinary service Keep it up. In the meantime you could social bookmark, social network etc... to get more visitors
Something that may help is posting in forums like this letting people know they can get backlinks by placing there domain name in the sig. Another thing you may want to consider is commenting on blogs in your niche.

What you need is first activity in the forum. Hire some forum posters to post meaningful contents. Popularize the existence of your forum by organizing contests, awarding prizes etc. Forums take their own time to pick up but once you achieved initial success in traffic, then what all you have to do is just moderation.
