I tried to uninstall wordpress from my cpanel. Without knowing the exact process i did something and deleted all the files from my file manager hoping that it would solve the problem. After deleting all the files i tried installing wordpress again. But I couldnt do it! Please help me fix it. I dont want the contents of the old site. Even a new wordpress blog will do. Kindly help me:confused::(

If you had installed wp from fantastico, you could have used the one-click uninstall from the fantastico itself [it deletes all the files + the database].
What error message do you get if you try to install a new one?

You probably deleted the file structure that cpanel is housed in. Talk to your host and see if they cn find out what the problem is.

I think you used Fantastico and remove wordpress by deleting it directly

You need to remove the wordpress using fantastico again

It sounds like you deleted a key file or files needed on your hosting space.

If you contact your hosting provider's technical support and tell them exactly what you did and exactly what the error is that you're getting when you try to install WordPress, they should be able to get it sorted out for you pretty quickly. That's what they're there for.

    Good luck :)

Go a directory above public_html, and find ".fantasticodata" (you need to select to see all hidden dotfiles). If you are trying to install something in the root folder (public_html), look for something in that directory named "installed_in_root.php". Deleting that file should let Fantastico install to the root folder again. ;)

It happened to me once. No matter what I tried it wouldn't work. I ended up calling hosting support and they reset something in my cpanel. It then worked and I was able to install via fantastico.
