Hello, A friend recently transferred his domain name from eNom to Godaddy. He did NOT change the DNS server prior the transfer. His old web host and email host stayed the same. However, after the transfer was complete, his website disappeared, replaced by an advertisement page with a woman's picture and some worthless ad links, plus an ad search box. His email stopped. We looked at the his domain control panel inside Godaddy, the DNS server addresses were the SAME as before the transfer. Did this happen to others before? It seemed like Godaddy pointed the web hosting and email hosting to its own servers even though the DNS servers stayed the same. I know in the transfer option from Godaddy, you can choose to use Godaddy's DNS or keep the DNS the same. We did keep the DNS servers the same, however, that option seemed to be overridden. I have transferred domains to Godaddy before, but this is the first time I have seen a problem with the transfer.
Is very common each time you transfer the domain name. I hate that, not only with Godaddy.com, im also having the same problem with other hosting company. The worse experience that I have before was 3 weeks to settle the entire process. Lesson learn, don't even transfer domain. Is hard.
You mean to say, you are not able to change the DNS from Godaddy control panel? You just need to point the nameservers of your domain where your domain is hosted. thats it
What you are seeing is the parking page of enom. Most probably your DNS was hosted with enom and you have pointed the A record to the website. You need to update the dns servers and mx entries at godaddy.
This is a weird problem, never seen this before. You should contact GD support to ask them what's wrong.
