How much should I charge a client for the following:
    1. Redid the layout from tables to css
    2. Coded 7 pages with new content and pictures they wanted
    3. Redid all links
    4. converted home flash page to css/html

How long did it take? I would charge them your hourly rate, multiplied by the hours worked. This should be something you discussed with your client beforehand.

yea it took over 10 hours of work, since they wanted me to keep changing things on it. I guess i made the mistake of discussing this before i started.

It depends if it is a friend or not, for a friend I would do that for like 20 bucks for a stranger 100 or more I would probably charge like 10-15 an hour.

A great thing to do is determine how much money you wanna make per month and then break it down into an hourly rate (you need to figure out the number of hours you'll be working per day & week)
That way you'll charge your clients based on the kind of money you wanna make, not some arbitrary figure that means nothing to you :)

Of course, it needs to be realistic and based upon what your client can afford and the quality of the work you did for him...that goes without saying

And ideally it's something you might want to discuss with your clients beforehand...it's better for both of you

    Good luck!

Most difficult task is to create table less layout. You should charge $70-$90 for css layout although it would depend on website design.

    Do not undercharge.

$10-15 an hour sounds awfully low to me. I charge the same hourly rates as my auto mechanic - slightly less then my electrician, but more that the moron that mows my grass.

a complete re-build from tables to CSS is worth at LEAST $200. do what others said - multiply your hourly rate (say, $40) by 12 (you can afford to add a few hours on).

$480 sounds about right to me. offer on-going support at your hourly rate.

If its a stranger than you must charge $15 to $20 per hour. That is the standard amount my company charges.

I would charge them for the time it took you to do the work. I normally charge per project but there are times when it's not a full project, then I simply charge based on my hourly rate.
