Some think that the conversion rate 10% is a joke. If some one says he can, then he is a fairy or a liar. It is possible to have high conversion by using some keywords. But you need to do something to make the conversion like that. Here I don’t want to talk about the overall conversion rate. Here I want to talk about the possibility of improving conversion rate. If you are the software publisher and you have many competitors, then it is much more difficult to have relatively high conversion rate. But you can target certain keywords to promote and enhance the conversion rates of these keywords. For example, if you use ‘antivirus’ to promote some antivirus software, you have little opportunity to have a high conversion rate because your competitors like Symantec, Trend and Macfee are always doing their best to take the market. Here we need to change our idea when promoting this kind of software. E.g. there is an epidemic of a new virus recently, now we can use the keywords like ‘how to remove xxx (virus name)’, remove xxx etc. to promote. I think you can get profitable results. Now let’s talk about something related to the websites of the vendor and the affiliate. It is also a very important aspect to improve conversion. Different from the vendors, affiliates focus more on the page design. The vendors hope that their websites more professional and like a big company’s sites. But we know that the affiliates need the users to purchase the products they promote. So if they only use the vendor’s page, then the conversion rate can’t be like they expected. Affiliates have more flexibility when they design the dedicated page to promote some profitable products. The purpose why they do this is to improve conversion rate and ROI, but not to help publicize the vendor. Some think it is unnecessary to create a dedicated page to promote products. Most vendors have submitted their software to the download sites. So you may be still confused why the affiliates do that. Here we should know one thing is that not most of the affiliates create dedicated pages for all products. They only create dedicated pages for those products that can bring them considerable profits. So they do so. In addition to the traffic from the download sites and other means like SEO and Adwords. You should pay more attention to your site before potential customers become your users. When they log onto your site, they will find what they need first, and then decide whether to use your product or not, thus decide to purchase. So the whole page design is very important. Here I would like to take weight loss product as an example. The biggest difference between the vendor and the affiliate lies in functions introduction. Most time the official websites focus on the functions introducing, but the affiliate websites focus on weight loss. As affiliates, they can create some other pages to introduce healthy diet. The purpose of this is to lead the potential weight loss customers to the page and the healthy diet customers to another page. I will continue to post the tips on how to improve conversion rate. If you have good ideas, please share with us.
Here's another one: sell without selling. People don't like to be sold to, but we love to buy. When you start pushing a prospect to a particular product, they go into sales-defence mode. However, if you can tell them how to do something and work the product in as part of that explanation, their defence-barriers never go up. For example.. say I was promoting a renewable/DIY energy product. I might create a guide to saving money on electricity bills, include 9 tips about keeping curtains drawn, windows closed, carpets in your house, wearing more clothes on cold nights instead of whacking the heating up and so on. Then, I'd sneak in one tip about creating your own energy sources, and link to the product on Clickbank as a "how-to" guide. Another example.. say I was promoting a "get your ex back" product. I might create a support site for people who've just broken up with a ton of content on what they can do to get their ex back - ignore them for a bit, make them jealous and so on, and then one tip would be to use the strategies laid out in the book (I don't know what they are.. but you'd describe the strategy, then say, "For a more complete description of this approach, and for more information on why it works so well, I'd recommend you read this book: [link]". If people have made the decision to buy themselves, and not been forced through a hoplink or via clicking a flashy banner, they're more likely to want to follow through on the purchase. Give it a go
I almost forget one thing is to list all benefits your users can get from your produts. The users don't care much about your features, but the benefits.
Top notch tip right there. will definitely look up to this one in the future as a possible method. But hey, i got a question though, how do you promote your "Guide to save on electricity". BTW, how do you do it? write an article or an ebook?
I would add that you should also split test whenever possible. I've seen what seems like a conversion lifts disappear after a few days because variables weren't treated equally. Google's split tester is free. Good luck!
Tiger Publishing Yep you hit the nail on the head, never force anything onto anyone, just give people what they want and then a little link which guides them where you want.
funny, i just posted something related on warrior's. If you see that clickbank has a mandatory 60 days money back policy -take this to your advantage! In all your wordings/banners...you can emphasize on "Try XYZ 100% risk free for 60 days OR YOUR MONEY BACK" <-- because they WILL get their money back from clickbank. You can word ANY clickbank product-sales copy to make it sound like a trial which is 100% risk free and use phrases like "...or your money back"...make it sound you don't sell but instead offer a TRIAL <--- think about it! Think about the power of words like "100% risk free", "guarantee", "money back"....
Yes, definitely. Nothing like convincing people to buy without them knowing they are being sold to. In return, theyll see that youve done the research for them and will thank you in the long run. Building this relationship overtime increases your possibilities of doing "upsells" in the future. Nice thought there everyone. Top notch!
Yah, it is a good strategy to convince them to purchase first, focus on 60 day money back guarantee, some will ask for refund in the future, some will not. Then you would more to invest and let money make money.
I am busy with our new version 5 these days. With new look and more than 25 effective tools, and it will be released soon. So I think it will also help improve conversion rate.
This is accually the methode I used on my newest product. Although the CTR suffers a little the conversion rate is just INSANE!
