Oh I think i see what you all are thinking. You're thinking I coded this website with html or css? NO. I used a wysiwig program. any html or css is completely oblivious to me. I literally put the legal information on there and called it a day. Oh I chose the color scheme and pictures, but that's about it. The rest was word processing and trying to seo optimize. If you have suggestions of a website design program that you recommend over what i'm using. I'm all ears.
Hi, If you don't mind my asking but how do you plan on optimising it (apart from the usual submitting to directories etc, etc?). It's just I plan on optimising my partners website (see bottom link) - which is in the final stages of being 'built'. I would have thought we could do reciprocal link exchanges, as both have the same theme but don't exactly clash in any way (as we are based in UK). Maybe it's worth having an online directory attached (for US attorney's? - in order to exchange links). What do you / anyone else think of this idea?
My suggestion for people (like me) who have no design skills is to use Word Press. It's easier to work with. if you know just some basic HTML, it is easy to customize, and you get the ease of updating and it's SEO benefits. There are a whole cornucopia of professional templates to choose from. The better ones are premium and run between $30 and $100, but there are plenty of free ones available ...all are already designed, you just need to make it your own with a logo and header, and supply the content. The right template with the right edits and no one will know it's on a word press platform...that is why it's so popular. I have everything from full blogs, to landing pages, news aggregators, and static websites all using word press. Don't let it fool you into thinking that it is just a blogging platform. It is the best thing going to get a professional looking website, without having to know the technical skills to build one.
Thanks Hmansfield I'll look into that. I have a wordpress blog attached to my site i'm having a hard time configuring it. the template I got has a lot of ... stuff for me to do. I get bored after an hour fooling around with it.
Its simple and not a unique. left menu is nice. and is not a SEO friendly sites.lot of missing there. My suggestion is try to redesign.
There is a learning curve. There were many days that I spent staring at the screen and couldn't figure out why my blog was gone, or why the sidebar was pushed to the other side of the room because of edits I attempted (with no knowledge of HTML, PHP, or anything else) ...but it is worth it if you are serious about getting something together online. There are only 2 choices online...Learn it, or hire someone to do it for you.
I have tried to implement more features on the site and make it look more professional. When people do click I only get like $2 - $5, not the $20 - $40 i was expecting [makes me wonder if i'm being cheated] Anyway, I added wrap around the adsense. I added adsense for search. Tried to clean up some pages. Tried to highlight and bold key terms on each page. Changed page titles. Made meta descriptions more focused on each page. Added more content on some pages, so much so that I'm competing with state websites for some terms, it's ridiculous LOL. What do you think? What is your criticism? What is your advice? oh here: Nevada DUI Attorney
Design: 40% Cool 42% Professional ... Images and Photos: 55% Cool Looks like it was designed in 2002, and we are almost to the end of the decade Buddy! Conclusion, Fire the designer, and Hire one who knows what Ajax, CSS and such technologies Entail.
i would agree with most and say the design is a bit outdated, and some of the posts and things on the site are kinda confusing, interesting adding celebrity news
1. how's the seo: seo is not good, as website is not listing on first page of google 2. how's the design: needs improvement 3. does it look professional: Not really 4. is the information easy to find: Yes 5. does the adsense fit and is it enticing to click: Yes 6. what would you improve: Look and feel, Marketing. 7. is there a better design you'd suggest 8. are the pictures and video ok. Just Ok 9. overall appeal . Average
It is a very simple website and if you are just trying to make a buck off adsense then good luck. You should get it professionally made with a custom designed website. I'm also not that big of a fan of people getting away from the law if they are DUI'ing it!
[ Just as an FYI, I've done plenty of research. The police and the state get federal funding per DUI arrest they make. They have gone completely overboard. Any DUI attorney will tell you that they stomp all over the constitution, and not to arrest DUI people, but they intimidate and harrass many decent people. There are thousands of DUI arrests with people with 0.0% BAC. ] So don't feel sorry for the police.
I have a friend who's a designer, or so he says, oh and i met him online, he's not a real life friend. He never gives me a price range, nor gives me examples of what he can do. Can someone give me a price range and examples of what each price range can get me?
hey guys. After reading over the input from all of you, I can now see how... ignorant I was of what a good website should look like. What I really should have stressed is that, the material I was using or program, had such poor documentation that I did not understand a lot of it. Also, now that I do know more about programming in html, I can see that the program is quite frankly, just awful. I have since downloaded Amaya, which is directly from w3c schools and offers open html source, along with wyswyg editing. My other program had hard coded html parts to it. So there was no way to adjust the code. I have since learned to put snippets of HTML in it, but it still is horrible. I just d/l Amaya, so I will be learning it and working with it. I still hesitate to buy dreamweaver. I figure when the site makes a little more money, like $100.00 a week, I'll go ahead and buy it. Right now I am not even making that much. Once again thank you for your input, and i apologize from the bottom of my heart if I came across argumentative. I admit... I WAS A NOOB.
