Somebody offered to buy my DP account

Someone added me to MSN (digitalpointaccounts@live.com) and offered to buy my DP account for $80.

Obviously I said no because he would probably just scam a bunch of people using it.

He mentioned he had a website where he buys and sells DP accounts (url was digitalpointaccounts.com).

The whois for this website says the domain was only registered yesterday so the person may have been contacting a few people through MSN in order to start off his business.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

 

Buy your DP account? They are free though.

 

I think he wants one with heaps of posts and itrader.

I am happy that OP chose to decline the offer, keeping the interest of wide DP community in mind.

Members should understand that people looking to buy accounts are mainly scammers and it would be out rightly greedy/foolish to jeopardize the interest of the fellow members.... for money!

I think he might be doing some business with DP accounts. If it's my case I wont give my account..

 

Some of the member who like to buy DP account since they want to have good post and good itrade, so that it is easy for them to scam DP member. So, better stay away from this kind of deal

 

ph...the business nowadays......why dont he just create himself and sell it.... i heard dp accounts are being in sold in blackmarket forums,.....dunno for sure

Now how can we trust on reputed profiles !! ??

If such service is started in market . scammer will buy some reputed profiles and may scam people with huge amount of money, so now i think we must be careful !!

 

Is this the sign of the times? They do this with online game accounts. Now, they are going to have people to employ cheap 3rd world people to make posts under an account in hopes of selling that account to some scammer that will make even more from the account.

What they don't understand is that dp does keep records of IP address used to access all accounts and can cross reference account ip address, etc and null all accounts with the same IP address login. Sucks for those in the same household with different accounts. Sucks for those at work behind a ip proxy server and share the same IP.

I hate to click on the link to look, but it says it has 1 account already for $150 bucks. Using their formula they marked up the price 200% on the amount they paid. Gezzzzz..

Buying and selling dp accounts that is definatly a new one. I guess it would be cool coming into the forum as an expert with 1000 posts I just wonder how long it would take people it was someone brand new to the forum I think the only thing I have been offered is someone wanting to by my sig.

 

If he's going to scam people with a respected account, you can be pretty sure he's also going to scam the person he's buying the account from.

Its really shocking !!

 

I know there is an actual niche out there for users to buy DP accounts but usually the folks that are buying them have been banned before and can not join again or are scammers who are trying to rip newbies out of their money.

Not yet, Only cheap people can do this type of business.

 

Against DP rules, if DP finds out the account it will get banned right away.

 

I have also seen these kinds of things on few of freelancing sites.

But they don't know that DP is smarter than them and they will get banned soon if they use a account like that.
