I was chuckling to myself as I read yet another thread by stOx regarding the evils of religion. I found myself wondering once again, what could cause such deep seated hatred in his psyche towards a group of people for what he imagines is their belief system? The UK has made the news several times in the last few months for its crack down of freedom of thought and speech. It seems the British thought police have been deporting/denying visas to anyone whose opinions might, in the opinion of the Home Secretary, "threaten community harmony and therefore public safety in the UK". According to the head of a foreign policy think-tank in London, the British immigration officials' real focus was keeping Islamic extremists out of Britain, but that many of the names were "just here for padding.", In other words, they would like to target a single religion, but for political correctness, have targeted all religions, and really, anyone with a strong opinion, including vocal opponents of muslim extremism and outspoken American radio talk show personalities. It occurred to me that perhaps stOx is not alone in his hatred and paranoia, and is actually just representative of what is actually a larger problem in the UK. Sure enough, it turns out that the British Home Secretary is afraid to walk around in London at night. Research done by the Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London, indicates around a third of the English people are paranoid. They found levels of paranoia were much higher than previously suspected - and almost as high as those for depression and anxiety. In the past paranoid thinking had been assumed to occur only in people with severe mental illness, partly because of a reticence in the general population about talking about paranoid thoughts. A new website, paranoidthoughts.com, has been launched to provide information on paranoid thoughts as well as advice on seeking help. It saddens me to think that a few train bombings can make a society fascist, xenophobic, and anti-religious. The UK has been a long time ally of the U.S. and I hope they can win the fight against the lunacy that comes with xenophobia.
I have found religion repulsive for a long time before the religious decided to start murdering us in the name of thier religion.
Yes Obamanation you are definitely right our society is fascist..xenophobic and anti religious Crack down on freedom of speech and thought? Sorry but it's our country and if we don't want to let knobheads like that radio presenter in then we don't have to. Oh and i wouldn't walk around certain parts of London at night but generally i would feel safe on a night out.
So you are ok with cracking down on freedom of speech and thought? That seems odd to me as the majority of the people they are cracking down on seem like they would be people you look up to.
Yeah? Like who? You are just an iditotic 16 year old pot head who thinks he knonws everything because you visit the digg political section lmao, mad ed.
Yunis Al-Astal Samir Kantar Safwat Hijazi All denied entry Well, I'm not sure what the digg political section is, but I do try to understand what it is I'm posting about before posting. Don't get testy with me for the content of this thread. I provided plenty of links with supporting information from your UK papers.
Yeah right because i think Israel is bad for killing innocent people must mean i really look up to them 3. You are so stupid, and know absolutley nothing about the UK. K?
I believe my quote was they "seem" like people you would look up to. Only what I read in your papers about studies done by your scientists on your people and deportations of people for the opinions they hold. Other than that, you are absolutely right, I know nothing about the UK . I notice you didn't answer the question:
