I don't think I understand the question. To spend either currency locally, I'd have to convert it to AUD. Why wouldn't I just convert it all at once, and dump it into my bank account? €1000 = $1,783.49 AUD $1000 USD = $1,303.76 AUD It's a bit like tipping a glass of water into lake.
