What are your expectations from windows 7?

I didn't expect much from windows 7. It uses the same kernel as that of vista. Visuals are't very stunning(I know its still in beta). Although microsoft has learned a lot from vista failure but still I don't think so there will be something like"revolutionary OS".

Well considering XP was a big step up from ME (remember that one?), maybe Microsoft DID learn something from Vista.. However, I wouldn't bank on it -- as they seem to not care to much of what the end user wants these days

Win 7 is a huge improvement over vista & Xp..

Anybody who is running Win 7 and easily analyze it...

    Faster than vista & XP
Used Less Memory: Runs extremely fast on 1 GB Ram.
    Auto crash recovery..
    Fast Jump list..
    Fast Search..
Nice Graphics specially the new Taskbar..
No need to install sound driver or graphics driver..
Fast Boot and quick install ( Max 20 mins)

Overall 10/10 to this great OS... MS has certainly worked hard and learned a lot from Vista.. It is going to be more famous then Xp... i can bet..

My expectations from 7 is for me to wait for Windows 95. But wait! You say "didn't Windows 95 come out many years ago?" Of course it did! :D Think about it ;)

All I'm expecting from Windows 7 is a skinned down version of Windows Vista which failed miserably. I've heard that Aero on Windows 7 uses a quarter of the amount of ram that Vista required for it.

They also might be stopping free support for Windows XP so it might be worth checking out the features of Windows 7 or you will be stuck with Linux or something which is pretty good ;)

IMHO, I hope Windows 7 will bring the best of XP (stability) and Vista (visual design)

    Hey....I do the same!
and I thought I was the only one liking the appearance of classic theme...

I have used 98, ME in the past and am now stuck with XP since long time. I hope 7 has good stability, to encourage me for an upgradation.
