Twitter automatically turns some urls into tiny urls. Look me up on Twitter and you can find some free viral tools in my posts. ID twstinmcniblits

I use Twitter Friend Added to add friends. It saves me time. I also use Twello to follow more targeted people. The reason why people post tiny urls is because you only have 140 characters to tweet with, so by shortening you URL, you have more room for text.

Yes, twitter dose that automatically-which is nice for the users. Just tweet about things and your site both, that way it's not just about your site getting promotion.

I use a viral system>> Viral Followers and another thing I use is a follow back directory http://www.ifollowback.com/register.php. These two will shoot you up to a thousand within a month if used correctly and then exponentialy after that.

Now for your second question about the tiny url. Since twitter only allows 140 characters including spaces when you want to share a domain that may be really long you can use a tiny url which shrinks the amount of characters in a domain name letting you share any domain name no matter what the size. You can find that here>> http://tinyurl.com/ anyway I hope this helps:)

I wouldn't suggest using tinyURLs, just go with normal URLs

that is horrible advice unless you already have a short domain name (less than 5-6 characters). i recommend using a trackable URL shortener like budurl.

as for how to use twitter, i have pages of tips on my site:

If you want to be more effective in promotion on twitter, try to be more interactive with the other followers. tiny url is a shortened url which will redirect to the same link you point to

Post regularly to build relationships. Just tweet about what you are doing on your site, etc.. Don't spam. Spamming is the easiest way to get unfollowed
