Any full-proof method of getting DMOZ listed?

Hey guys, is there any full-proof method to get listed in the DMOZ directory?

I think using even the paid service for DMOZ inclusion could be worth it, but it should be full-proof.

There is no fool proof service and thats because dmoz is not a listing service for web masters. It is a directory being built by volunteers.

The best chance of sites being included in dmoz is by the site having unique content, something that offers surfers what they are looking for and then, study the guidelines. Once suggested, you can do no more. At some stage an Editor may review the site, however no time frame is issued.

Many of the sites included in the directory are simply found during the day to day activities of the volunteers.

There is no paid service for inclusion into ODP.

    Regards.

Perhaps you should visit there and READ. You are paying for a "submission service"......basically you are paying for a person to write a title, write a descriptions and suggest the site. Why would you do that??

There is no guarantee of acceptance, no guarantees of anything other than they will suggest the site for you. They even state
Like i said in the previous post, there is no paid option and no charges for suggesting your site to the directory.

    I looked at that site.

That is not a service to get your site listed. They will only submit your site. They ask $49 for something anybody can do for free. Maybe I should start such a service. Very easy job to make some money. ;)

Go to one of the freelance sites such as scriptlance, start a new project and also state that you will only pay after you see your site listed in DMOZ. Do not mention the URL in your project description and only give it to the winer of the project.
There are many senior editors in DMOZ that are selling listings. Awhile back price was down to $40 but now it seems to be back at around $100 again.

You can wait some months and check the category of the directory where your site should be listed.

You can become a friend of a Dmoz mod and ask him if your site was listed in Dmoz. :)

Same old offensive slander. Never bothering to provide the slightest piece of evidence. Surely time to give it a rest eh?

It is only slander, if it was not true. It is not my fault if you are not smart enough to understand the meaning of "completed transaction" and "positive feedback". Try to grow up and get a clue.

Hmm, that post looks kinda familiar. Funny how whenever anyone asks for actual evidence or details to support the tired old accusations of widespread editorial corruption, the response is simply to repeat the same insults.
It does rather weaken your argument, but I guess it's the only option available when you don't actually have anything at all to support your vitriolic claims.

So, as repetition seems to be mandatory here ... if anyone has any evidence of any DMOZ editor abusing their position in any way, please report it using the Public Abuse Reporting tool. All such reports are taken very seriously and immediately investigated, provided they contain actual evidence about a specific editor.

If you don't have enough evidence to do that, it is completely pointless and extremely rude to keep insulting volunteers the way you do.

It's libel if it's written down, slander is only for spoken defamation. But anyway, there is no fool-proof way of getting in DMOZ, unless you consider making a good quality website and honestely submitting it then waiting a few months to be fool-proof?

Also, even if gworld's suggestion were true I wouldn't trust paying a dishonest person to include my website as they could just remove it on a whim later, and when they get found out eventually it might get removed anyway and be much harder to get back in again.

That's right, there is not fool-proof, or 'full-proof' as you mistakenly put it, way of getting your site in there. If you've waited years, chances are that your site isn't considered worth listing.

Why wait and watch? Just forget about it and move on; spend your time to other things to promote the site.

Only the first item of advice is correct, and is exactly what the suggestion form says:
However, this is actually Step Three of the correct process, so I would strongly advice people to spend even more time on Step One, as that is (obviously) the most important.
