Well, having duplicate content always cause problem. It's better, if you have 4-5 articles related to particular subject. Submit one to articles directory and in the author note you can mentioned read similar article on yourlink.com. This well save duplicated content and your website will receive traffic.
one of your site will be penalized for sure. May be both of them. because am suffering with the same problem. With my blogspot blog and now when i changed to wordpress. You should close the blog which is having low rankings.
I think if your overall percentage of content on your website is unique then you wont have issues with duplicate content. I have a website which is about 80% unique news content and the other 20% i simply cut and past from other news sources (naughty I know) but this 20% gets alot of traffic plus $$ from adsense too! People worry too much about dupe content IMO.
You can rewrite your content. Google may not penalize your website for duplicate content, but the links there wont count so much. This is to prevent a situation where a competitor will sabotage a fellow competitor with links in duplicate content so as to negatively influence his or her rankings.
In my opinion you wont be penalized for submitting your articles because Mix, Stumble, Propeller that take a short snippet of your article and put your link as the bottom as the source to finish reading it. Google will not penalize you for submitting to sites like this that take a snippet of your article and link back to you as the source. Google gave me over 35 links for one article I submitted to propeller. Use Webmaster tools. It will tell you if you have duplicate content. In this case don't worry. Submitting your articles to both your blogs is a no no. You will get penalized for this. You might get away with it doing something like mixx, or propeller do by taking a snippet and linking to the original article as the source. In the blog case Google is going to give the one blog authority because the unique content and the other hardly any authority, or might just de-index it. Make sure the articles are indexed by Google before you submit them to Mixx, or propeller or they might get authority over that article. Don't think this will happen since they link back to your site, but it's always better to be safe.
hey everyone, the problem you are having from the blog is that you are placing the same content in both blogs so,google do not except this and claim it.Therefore, you must handle it carefully and try to place different content. The bookmarking sites which i use is digg.com,reddit.com,mixx.com,furl.com,technorati.com. these are effective and will make a difference! Best of luck.
Neither site will be penalised. Read Googles blog they DO NOT penalise duplicate content. They simply rank the content from the site with a higher authority above the lesser one. I could take an article from another website place it on a higher authority website and outrank the original. (would never do this though)
Finally, that's the thing: there is no duplicate content penalty stipulated by the google guidelines. The matter at stake is the rankings. I'm not so sure whether the priority is placed on the site with a higher pr value. From what I've read until now, I can assume that all the duplicated entries but one are ignored, and you cannot predict which of them will end up in serps.
The one that is indexed first will get the credit the other will be ignore by Google. You have to rewrite the second post just a bit to avoid this.
LoL People seem to just make things up and post them on here like they know what they are talking about
Yes one will be duplicate content, however you DO NOT get penalised by google for it as is the common misconception. Instead Google will not index it on the second site.
I suggest that you submit articles to other websites, once Google and other SEs index those articles on your site. First submit the articles to your own website, then wait for some time until SEs indexed them. Also, you should not submit articles to two sites, even if you have two URLs for the same article on the same domain, that will also cause duplication problem.
