Where did they mention dinosaurs and what part did Bill O'Reilly and Brit Hume play in writing the bible?
Cause one thinks that Christians don't believe there were dinosaurs at all, even when there are Christians who have corrected him on the facts. It is really funny because he says "dinosaurs" in a few threads as if he was making a point somewhere - look at all his posts. Maybe I should start saying something like - cars Cars - and an evolutionist hides. (Is that how it works?)
George, it is pretty hard to respect someone whose opinion begins towards the end of a thread. My suggestion is that you actually start here and read the entire thread. Like I said, we have been through this before. Either you have not been paying attention, or you never bothered to read/follow this entire thread. Everything you are talking about was already discussed once in this thread. Why bring it up again?
Already debunked you numerous times that most people believe that dinosaurs where here, there are even bones to prove it, some bone sets have been removed since they found the real matches later, but overall it is pretty cut and dry. If you still need proof they existed you need help from a doctor or something.
Its an analogy. Let's say I'm god and you're a man. I'm telling you the history of the planet so you can write it down. So I say "I did it all in 7 days". A day can mean two entirely different things. You take it for what you think a day is, while I take it for what I know a day is. Your definition of day might be seconds to me, mine might be billions of man - years to you. I do not believe anywhere it says that a day = 24 hours. Get it?
What type of voice do you think God had? Do you think it had an echo on it? What if it sounded like woody allen?
Dude, he sounded like daffy duck. When the egyptians took all israelites, he said "of course you know, this means war"
You're right. I'll go back and read. I jumped in the thread and mentioned dinosaurs because I didn't see it in the pages I did read. I'll double back. Meantime, got a link to that bible passage that proves your point?
Why do you keep insinuating that I'm mentally challenged when you are trying to say that my whole argument in this thread has been that dinosuars don't exist? Are you being serious? Quit playing around.
Okay, as long as were thinking this way, i think a tree to you is a car to me. And lightposts abuse black people. And God strikes down heretics and witches with lightning bolts from his ass. If you are going to twist the statements in the Bible this way, you can make it say anything. For instance, "thou shalt not kill" becomes "though shalt not say stupid things". Or "Jesus wept" becomes "Jesus molested children". Shall I continue?
It should be in this thread.. Though I doubt it is a link. I believe it was just mention of the chapter and verse, that or the book. Surely you must have a "Bible" laying around somewhere? Pop it open. Things to be searching for in the thread are not necessarily "Dinosaur", mainly, because Dinosaur (the word) only recently existed (around 1841 I believe). Look for things like "tanniyn" or "behemoth" or "Leviathan". Keep in mind that the "Bible" refers to a lot of common animals, both past and present that many of us are familiar with. However, in the "Bible" not necessarily all referred to by their modern day names however. Happy Hunting...
Yes I got it the first time. I was just being silly. My point was that the analogy makes no sense because we speak of years and days all through the bible in the same way we speak of them today. So I ask you again, did a day mean billions of years ONLY in Genesis? You say you don't trust biblical scholars yet you're doing exactly what they do. Trying to interpret the bible so that it makes sense to you even when it makes no sense. Whereas I'm simply taking it for what it says right there in front of you. No where in the bible is "a day" code for anything else but a day. Except where you need it to. In that one passage in Genesis. Am I calling that one correctly or no?
Yes I am playing around, since I thought you were joking around in most of the things you have said in this thread. So am I to take all of your comments seriously? If so, I am kinda shocked, since I have never heard such arguements before. It seems you have been fed some strange lies from someone because, like I have said a few times, YES Christians believe there were dinosaurs.
Trust me, even though debunked thinks I'm retarded... I know the term dinosaur couldn't possibly have been mentioned until after the first dinosaur fossil was discovered. which kind of furthers my point that they weren't around anymore and there were no dino hunters back then. And yes I know all about the tanninyns and behemoths. Know what I say to that? Congrats, you just described an elephant.
You are probably more relying on a translation of the word for day. I've read in a few places that the word in the actual text is "yom" or something like that. Which has several definitions in hebrew - 12 hours, 24 hours, or even an indefinite period of time. So the word "day" has a certain definition when translated, but in the actual text "day" would mean more than a few things. Probably much of it based on the context in which it used.
