Guys placed trickly below on html code would be allowed or not by SE. img scr="images.gif" alt="keyword" ? By the way this is naming alt tag? Thanks.
yes that is corret. Dont overdo it though as you will be penalised. Use different keywords for each picture Notting
Image alt tags in nature are for describing what is in the picture itself, and will be displayed if the picture does not show up. SEO has cranked on this for keywords which is actually the wrong use for it. IE interpits the alt tags as title tags, not sure why, Firefox renders image alt tags and title tags correctly. Weighting seems to be very low on image alt tags if there is even any weighting left. I use them the right way without keywords to help out people who might hit the webpage with a text only browser or for blind people who use a reader program like JAWS.
The format is correct if you mean: <img height="20" src="images/spacer.gif" alt="keyword"> In one of the many articles I've read, the width and height should be greater than 10 because of the overuse 3 years ago of the 1x1 pixel images. Jim Catanich www. catanich. com
Try this one... Use alt="Keywords" in your links? Why... Search spiders use alt tags and it does not effect a link to add an alt tag within it. Through tons of research we have found that spiders ignore title="keywords" but they are accustomed to using alt tags...
Are you saying use alt="keywords" in a text link? of just a picture? What would alt text be doing in a standard text link?
Don't use useless techniques like that. Stick to what a good site should be, period. Yes, SEO is about getting rankings, but don't make a crappy site with junk in it. Talk to someone else on here if you want to see better ways of ranking. [and yes, I get pissed when I see this kind of advice given out.]
thelouisvilleseo, how is this useless advice? If a sites crappy it's crappy regardless of alt tags, but frankly, it doesn't make the user experience negative (and can make it more positive), and make the site rank better. So what's not to like?
This was a little fun advice and where I dont use this technique very much at all someone might want to. Spiders look at alt tags, but ignore title="" tags, some people still use title tags, this is a viable alternative. Then again since I am one of the top seo experts on earth, I guess you know more than me...
you can use image title tags as well. The verdict is still out on how effective alt and title tags within images are, but it can't hurt.
