I've set my geographical target to uk and my domain is a .net but i only seem to be ranking well in google.com. Will my rankings pick up in google.co.uk with time (as its pretty early days still)?

Anyone got any experience of this?

Having a .com hosted outside of the.uk is always going to cause you to not rank well on Google.co.uk

ok.whatever you had done up to now like hosting domain, and also not having .co.uk in ur domain.Although it makes some affect to ur ranking , but still if you can get some backlinks from some good uk webistes of ur niche, u can make it there also in UK

Correct... Server location plays important part in geographical targeting..

Moreover as jimmy03 said getting links from god .co.uk domains will also give you ranking benefit in Google.co.uk.

Is it worth me getting a uk host instead then? I've been looking at a dedicated host anyway so it might be worth doing it now? Can i host multiple domains on a dedicated server and will this affect my other well ranking uk site?
